The Xerox PARC (engl. Xerox Palo Alto Research Center) is the research center founded at insistance of the chief researcher of Xerox company Jack Goldman in 1970.

History

2020: The agreement with Alcon for the purpose of development of technology of treatment of eye diseases

On February 10, 2020 Xerox reported that the research center PARC belonging to it, signed the agreement with Alcon, the company in the field of ophthalmology. Within cooperation of the company will develop the innovative technologies of treatment of eye diseases.

One of cooperation components — the license agreement of the parties. It will allow Alcon company to use the intellectual property of PARC in products which start on the market is expected in the next two-four years.

Visual impairment meets even more often because of spread of diabetes and other diseases. Using our technologies created in PARC we together with Alcon develop solutions in ophthalmology which will help millions of people with different types of visual impairment, comments Tolga Kurtoglu, the head of division of global researches of Xerox

According to industry researches, the amount of the unoccupied market in a segment of health of eyes is 6 billion dollars.

Alcon works more than three years with PARC over creation of technologies for our products in the field of care of sight.
