2022: Approval of AMD Sale in China

In January 2022, Chinese regulators granted Advanced Micro Devices Inc. permission to buy Xilinx Inc. for $35 billion, clearing the way for one of the largest transactions in the global semiconductor industry.

The regulator approved the deal with some conditions, the antitrust authority said in a statement. He asked AMD not to discriminate against Chinese customers and continue to supply Xilinx products to the country.

The acquisition has already received the "blessing" of regulators in the United States, Europe and the United Kingdom.

Xilinx shares rose more than 6% on the premarket, AMD climbed slightly.

2020: AMD bought Xilinx for $35 billion

The deal was approved by the boards of AMD and Xilinx. Now shareholders and regulators should announce their decisions. If in all cases a green light is given, then AMD shareholders will receive 74% of the securities of the combined company, the remaining share will go to Xilinx shareholders.

AMD acquired Xilinx for $35 billion
