2019: Creation of a company

On January 24, 2020, it became known about the creation of Yahont LLC, a joint venture of a supplier of equipment for the implementation of the Spring Law of Norsi-Trans  and the Element company (the structure of AFK Sistema and Rostec).

As the Director General of Norsi-Trans  Sergey Ovchinnikov told Kommersant, Yakhont received a license to produce equipment for fulfilling the requirements of the Spring Law - Yakhont-UVM storage facility.

The supplier of equipment for the law Yarovoy created a joint venture with the structure of Sistema and Rostec

The new company was established in September 2019. 60% in it received "Element," 40% - "Norsi-Trans."  At first, it will work as a project office. It will take about a year to establish production. Norsi-Trans will earn a license from the JV, but the financial terms of the transaction are not disclosed.

The decision to attract partners to Norsi-Trans was explained by a government decree, according to which from 2021 domestic data storage systems should be created only on Russian processors.

Earlier, Norsi-Trans began to supply  equipment for the implementation of the Spring Law to MTS and MGTS operators (part of AFK Sistema). In total, they delivered about 2  thousand Yakhont-UVM complexes, Sergey Ovchinnikov said. According to him, the joint venture has become a new format of cooperation, in which Yakhont will produce Yakhont-UVM for MTS and MGTS.

Norsi-Trans is not able to bring the solution to the wide market alone in a short time, and the participation of AFK Sistema will allow the company to increase the scale of production in almost one step by an order of magnitude, said Ivan Pokrovsky, executive director of the Association of Russian Electric Developers and Manufacturers.

For AFK Sistema, this is also not some unique situation. Large corporations, for reasons related to reducing the time to launch products, prefer to purchase a company than to develop solutions on their own and overcome bureaucratic difficulties, "he added.[1]
