Yury Luzhkov criticized the Zaryadye park

Implementation of the alternative project of the Zaryadye park in the center of Moscow would be much the best solution. Such opinion in an interview in December, 2018 "RBC real estate" was expressed by the former mayor of the capital Yury Luzhkov. According to him, he supported this project, however it did not manage to be realized "because of meanness of some federal officials".

According to Luzhkov, the alternative concept of the Zaryadye park provided "reconstruction of this historical residential district in that appearance which corresponded to an appearance of old Moscow". "The project provided hotels, several concert halls for the different directions of music, starting with the opera and finishing with a modern platform. A large number of greens, beam structure was provided. One of beams came to the Kremlin, another — to a skyscraper on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment, the third had an appearance on the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. So being on a cross line of these beams, it was possible to see both Kotelniki, and the Kremlin, and the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour" — Yury Luzhkov told.

This project was developed by group of outstanding modern architects from Russia and from abroad among which there was also Norman Foster, the ex-Mayor of Moscow noted. "It was the unique and most beautiful project with underground space which structure precisely repeated old Zaryadye. It was approved by both architectural council of the city, and public architectural council, and even such fighter for traditional architecture of Moscow as Alexey Komech" — he reminded.

The Zaryadye park was included into the list of 100 best places of the world

The Zaryadye park opened in the center of Moscow in September, 2017 was included into the list of 100 best places on the planet. The corresponding rating published the Time magazine. "Huge parks, central, but at the same time stately and semi-official, became the main feature of the large Soviet cities. But not Zaryadye is the first large-scale park in Moscow created for the last 50 years", said in the publication.

Among places with which the capital park appeared in one list appeared branch of Louvre in Abu Dhabi on Jean Nouvel's project and library of the area Binhai in the Chinese Tianjin created by architectural bureau MVRDV. By drawing up rating the edition relied on opinion of the correspondents worldwide and estimates of 12 independent experts. Among evaluation criteria in the publication, in particular, the quality, originality and innovation are called.
