Kaspersky AntiVirus 2012

In August, 2011 there were upgraded versions of the products Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 and Kaspersky AntiVirus 2012 in which the new technique of protection combining advantages of cloud and local mechanisms of detection of threats is used. The new line suggests to estimate the increased performance and advanced functionality of the Safe Run mechanism, the modified user interface providing quick access to the main tools and functions and some other improvements.

As it was already told above, the key innovation provided in a new product line of Kaspersky is the unique combination of cloud and local means of protecting. This hybrid approach allows the application to minimize load of system resources, thanks to storage of base of virus signatures outside the hard drive, and use of information which is anonymously provided by associates will help to cope with poorly studied and new threats.

The modifed mode of a sandbox Safe Run which will provide an opportunity to start applications and the websites in the isolated safe environment is offered to attention of users. The updated virus scanner available from a context menu of "conductor" Windows Explorer will simplify verification of separate files. The module URL Adviser preventing visit of the harmful websites differs in support of the Google Chrome browser. The System Watcher component monitoring all changes in operation of the PC is completed with the useful Rollback function which will allow to return a system to the status preceding infection (if attempts of treatment were unsuccessful).

The updated application interface deserves separate mentioning. Information on a current status of a system is displayed in an upper part of the screen now, and below it is possible to see buttons for quick access to key functions of a product (scanning, loading of updates, means of parent control) and additional tools. Compact icons in the upper right corner of a working window will allow to open a dialog box of settings or to study the generated reports. Developers are sure that the new interface fully meets specific requirements as beginning, and experienced users.

The specialists from CNET Labs who subjected new products to careful testing announce also the detected defects. For example, testers warn that initial scanning of a system using Kaspersky 2012 takes a lot of time. However, the subsequent checks are executed much quicker, thanks to caching of the separate files marked as safe.

Users also should know that new means of protecting render noticeable effect on the speed of loading and system shutdown. Owners of the powerful modern computers which got used to fast loading of a desktop of Windows 7 need to prepare that the period of preparation of a system for work will last almost a minute longer.

Updating of fall of 2013

Kaspersky Lab updated protection for home users of the PC. In new Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security for all devices specialists of the company seriously improved the existing technologies and also added a number of absolutely new applied means, such as anti-virus technology "Meta-scanner" and "Protection against Programs of Blocking of the Screen".

New versions of Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security are developed according to growing to requirements to security from users. Both products received unique anti-virus Meta-scanner technology which checks files for existence of the fragments of a malicious code characteristic of programs exploits. "Meta-scanner" is intended, first of all, for search and blocking of the newest and most dangerous threats, data on which can be absent in anti-virus bases.

However, even if the threat does not concern the newest and difficult, it can constitute serious danger, and even for users whose computers are protected by anti-virus solution. Programs racketeers belong to such type, many of which block to the user an opportunity to interact with the computer and demand money in exchange for an unblocking. The majority of similar programs are successfully detected by antiviruses, but often novice users set them, ignoring warnings of the protective solution. For example, in case the malware masks under the musical file or the legitimate application which the user wishes to start. Thanks to new technology "Protection against Programs of Blocking of the Screen" in Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security disablers are not threat any more. If the user whose computer is protected by one of two new solutions of Kaspersky Lab, sees on the screen the message about blocking of the PC with the requirement of the redemption, he will need just to click a key shortcut then protection against programs of blocking of the screen will find and will delete a malware, having completely recovered operability of the computer.
