Intel presented a number of new technologies at the World Fair Computex

06.06.16, 18:00, Msk

At the World Fair Computex which is taking place in Taipei from May 31 to June 4, 2016 Intel provided the technologies capable to transform work of the whole industries worldwide. Billions of smart and connected to network devices, new services for work with Big Data and the cloud applicaions implementing the capacity of Internet of Things (Internet of Things, IoT) – all these inventions create a basis for a new wave of innovations in the field of calculations as a result of creation of a so-called "favorable circle" (virtuous cycle) in IT – process at which people and the companies receive return from the solutions which are most full using possibilities of end devices, network and cloud infrastructure.

The strategy of Intel changes

In May, 2016 the chief executive officer of Intel Brian Krzanich (Brian Krzanich) announced that Intel is transformed from the company focused on the PC market to the supplier of technologies for a cloud and for billions of smart, connected to network devices.

At the Computex Intel exhibition showed all the new developments made in connection with these changes.

So, the processor family of Intel Xeon E3-1500 v5 which allows to accelerate work with video at the minimum costs was provided and to provide the protected remote delivery of the applications which are actively using graphic resources. The graphic opportunities of Intel Iris Pro P580, the graphic processor of Intel combining the capacity of Intel Xeon processors and optimized, processors of new family allow service providers to process even more video flows on one server or the device, that minimizing necessary space for the equipment and reducing energy consumption.

On Computex 2016 Intel showed how a new processor family of Intel Xeon Phi provide the high performance and cost efficiency for all projects working with machine learning. Also the company announced the beginning of delivery of the pilot systems based on Intel Xeon E5-2600v4 with the built-in FPGA for the applications using machine learning technologies.

Borders of innovations in the field of the PC extend

Technologies of Intel gave rise to a new round of innovations in the field of the PC thanks to the solution for devices 2 in 1, game PCs and desktop computers.

Intel provided a processor family of Intel Core i7, the most powerful processors for desktop PCs in the history of Intel. The new family satisfies advanced queries of fans of modern computer games and producers of different visual content.

For the first time Intel processors for the desktop systems received 10 cores with support to 20 flows for simultaneous accomplishment of a set of the tasks requiring intensive calculations.

Besides, the new family haraketirutsya by support of 40 PCI lines that guarantees scalability and allows to expand systems capabilities due to installation of graphic cards and solid state drives, and higher performance thanks to new Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 technology and use of four-channel memory.

The Intel corporation also for the first time showed the Intel processors Core of the 7th generation code-named Kaby Lake and some opportunities of performance, battery life and multimedia which will be inherent in new premium solutions in a PC segment, since the second half of 2016.

In addition to a broad spectrum of the PC, from ultrathin devices 2 in 1 to high-performance computers for cyberathletes, the Intel processors Core are used also in IoT segment now, including in solutions for retail, in advertizing panels and information pointers, in an industrial segment of IoT and in medicine.

"Things" become more smart and connected

The Podklyuchennost to a cloud does many "things" – elements of segments of the PC and IoT – more valuable irrespective of whether there are they in the house, in the car, at office or somewhere else.

Intel provided family of systems on a crystal (SoC) of Intel AnyWAN GRX 750 and Wi Fi a chipset of Intel XWAY WAV500 – a new product family of the 5th generation with support of standards 11ac MU-MIMO for application in home wireless gateways. Use of the Intel AnyWAN GRX750 SoC system allows to create even more functional home gateways. The Intel platform helps to implement local and cloud services and provides possibilities for creation and the publication of different content, from new generation of devices with the ultrahigh permission to the "things" which are in houses of users. Products of Intel for the organization of network access create a necessary basis for support of the growing number "connected to network" things and cloud Internet services which ensure the protected and trouble-free functioning at home use and in the conditions of small business. Intel helps more than ten OEM and ODM producers to release home gateways and Wi Fi of access point for retail market.

In a transport segment Intel announced cooperation with the Taiwan Chunghwa Telecom and SanJet Technology Corp. on creation of network telematic service using the cheap Intel processor Atom x3 for IoT (earlier known as SoFIA). The device will allow to implement the flexible mechanism of car insurance which will consider a manner of driving and use of the car. Intel continues to expand the list of solutions based on Atom x3 processors, and intends to use such processors in the equipment in sales points, in tablet devices to health sector and in industrial devices within IoT.

Technologies 5G change a concept of mobility, having integrated the "smart" world

If technologies 4G were more focused on acceleration of data transmission, then technologies 5G will help to implement more powerful wireless networks allowing "things" to interact with each other with people and with a cloud.

Intel accelerates this transformation and upgrades today's communication infrastructure, zaklozhiv a basis for 5G networks.

During the Computex exhibition it was announced partnership of Intel with Foxconn for the purpose of joint development of technologies for the network infrastructure designed to accelerate this transition. The companies intend to cooperate over creation of prototypes and implementation of pilot programs in which new technologies, such as Mobile Edge Computing, Cloud Radio Access Network (CloudRAN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) which allows to create more intelligent, effective and flexible networks will be used. Thanks to these efforts of Intel and Foxconn intend to facilitate work on change of architecture of the networks and preparation for implementation of technologies 5G for suppliers of communication services.
