Biography

Was born on June 6, 1963 in Moscow.

In 1985 graduated from faculty of journalism of MSU.

From 1985 to 1991 worked at Broadcasting to foreign countries of Gosteleradio of the USSR, in the World broadcasting service in Russian - the editor, the host of programs.

Author and leader of news, information and analytical, publicistic, literary and art radio programs and also interview with the leading politicians, economists and cultural figures of Russia (1986-2007)

1991: Radio of Russia

From 1991 to 1993 the leader, the head of the Voice of Russia radio station (in Russian), the associate director of Directorate of news programs of Radio of Russia (VGTRK).

From 1993 to 1997 the director of Directorate of news programs of Radio of Russia of VGTRK. Worked in "hot spots": the author and the producer of documentaries about military operations in Yugoslavia (long business trips in the early nineties to all republics of the former SFRYu), situations in Albania (1991-1995), the war in Libya (2011), etc.

2017: The development director in RBC

At the beginning of April, 2017 messages that the entrepreneur Grigory Berezkin agreed with Mikhail Prokhorov's Onexim about purchase of RBC media holding appeared. According to two sources in the media market, in case of entry into the capital of RBC Grigory Berezkin considers the possibility of attraction to management of media holding of Alexey Abakumov, the Deputy CEO of the Rumedia group.

Abakumov – the candidate of Presidential Administration, told the source of Vedomosti close to RBC, the administration even in the summer of 2016 recommended to shareholders of RBC to employ him. The Presidential Administration watches closely the transaction on RBC, approve two sources of Vedomosti. The employee of Presidential Administration denies both it, and that officials somehow recommended Abakumov. Abakumov reported to Vedomosti that he does not conduct negotiations on work in RBC.

But in July, 2017 in RBC confirmed that Alexey Abakumov is appointed the development director of RBC media holding[2].
