2023: Bills seized due to gaming studio issues

On July 24, 2023, information appeared that the arbitration court, in the framework of the bankruptcy case of the mobile games developer Game Insight LLC (Game Insight), seized bank accounts and real estate of persons who, according to the bankruptcy trustee Denis Kachura, controlled the debtor. The case file, in particular, includes the founders of the Mail.ru Group Grigory Finger and Mikhail Winchel, as well as the former first vice president of this Internet holding Igor Matsanyuk.

According to the Kommersant newspaper, we are talking about an amount of 75.9 million rubles: these are wage arrears for more than 270 employees of the game studio. These funds were arrested in the accounts of eight individuals. Among them, in addition to Finger, Vincel and Matsanyuk, were the former general director of Game Insight Alexei Fesenko, financial director of the company Anastasia Bubinets, founder of Data-Code LLC Igor Shelopaev and Sergei Avetikov (Igor Matsanyuk's partner in the accelerator of startups Farmers). The court order also applies to five properties owned by Finger.

In the case of the Game Insight studio, bank accounts and real estate of persons who controlled the debtor were seized

Kachura said that 75.9 million rubles are claims of 271 employees of the company for salaries included in the register of creditors. It is noted that Matsanyuk has a bank account in Russia, while Finger and Vincel closed their Russian accounts. The investigating authorities are checking on the fact of the deliberate bankruptcy of the game studio. At the same time, it is known that Matsanyuk turned to a number of employees with a proposal to buy back wage arrears.

Kommersant also notes that the Moscow Arbitration Court satisfied the claim of Game Insight LLC against the parent structure - Lithuanian Game Insight UAB. The amount of claims is 154 million rubles: this money, allegedly, the Game Insight studio received less under contracts for the development of games.[2]
