2019: 10 years of prison for cracking of the booking systems of the Russian Railway and S7

At the end of December, 2019 Basmanny district court of Moscow pronounced sentences to three hackers accused of cracking of the booking systems of the Russian Railway and S7. In total 29 people were connected to the case.

According to TASS, Kirill Kulabukhov was sentenced to 10 years of standard regime penal colony, Andrey Zhdanov and Maxim Matyushev — by 12.5 and 13.5 years strictly of the mode respectively.

The court recognized Maxim Matyushev, Andrey Zhdanov and Kirill Kulabukhov guilty of establishing a criminal organization, participation in criminal community and fraud in the field of computer information, said in court's decision.

According to the investigation, in 2013-2014 swindlers cracked the C7 Ticket databases and the partner of the Russian Railway "Universal financial system". Using the received accounts they bought tickets for trains and airplanes, making out them on figureheads, and those returned tickets in cash desks. 31 companies suffered for operating time of grouping, the general damage was 17 million rubles.

The special investigator the lieutenant colonel of justice  Evgenia Shishkina who  was shot  in October, 2018 near the house in the settlement situated near Moscow Arkhangelsk was engaged in investigation of this criminal case.

Legal procedure lasted over a year. During this time the state prosecutor interrogates 31 victims, over 190 witnesses living in different regions are investigated more than 1000 volumes of the criminal case file.

The head of hacker gang the investigation believes Yaroslava Sumbayeva. He will be separately judged: Sumbayev was not in Russia at the time of arrests of his accomplices, but as a result he was delayed in the territory of Georgia and in October of this year is extradited to Russia. In addition to fraud with tickets, contract murder of the senior special investigator of the Department of MIA on transport on Central Federal District Evgenia Shishkina, according to the investigators, completely organized through the Darknet is imputed to it.[1]
