Biography

Was born on March 17, 1971 in Arkhangelsk.

The Russian Foreign Ministry, department of public relations graduated from faculty of the international information (journalism) of MGIMO; studied in MGIMO together with Vladimir Medinsky.

In 1990 — 1991 was the president of institute Association of young journalists "EYE".

In 1992 — 1996 — one of founders and the partner of advertizing agency """Ya Corporation".

In 1993 based and "Mikhaylov and Partners" took a position of the managing partner of the agency on development of public relations.

In 2004 left the agency and passed to work into the Russian Railway. In 2004 — 2012 — the adviser to the president and the board member of Russian Railway company, the head of the public relations department, the head of the department of corporate communications.

In 2012 Dmitry Medvedev signed the order about Sergey Mikhaylov's appointment the CEO of ITAR-TASS agency.

One of founders of the Russian association for public relations, the honorary member of RASO, the member of the Union of journalists of the Russian Federation.

Author more than 200 publications. The member of International association for public relations (IPRA) and American society for public relations (PRSA).
