Biography

Gleb Mishin was born in 1968 in the city of Rybinsk. Graduated from the Highest naval school of radio electronics in St. Petersburg majoring in "Software of automated control systems".

From 1991 to 1993 worked in Scientific Research Institute VMF.

In 1994 passed into the Sea Computer Systems joint venture created by ICL company and the Administration of Saint Petersburg where developed the direction of banking systems.

In 1995 Mishin held a position of the technical adviser in department of banking systems and telecommunications at the St. Petersburg office Hewlett-Packard, in 1997 became products manager, and then was raised to the Head of Department.

In 2001 Gleb Mishin passed into Bull CIS company to a position of the commercial director.

2002: Start of work in Acer

Since 2002 - the general manager of the Russian representative office of Acer of CIS.

In January, 2011 held a post of the area director of Acer in Eastern Europe (22 countries).

In March, 2011 at a meeting of Board of Directors of Acer the decision on resignation of Gianfranco Lanci heading global business of Acer since 2008 was made. Reason: Lanci disagreements with the guide to an occasion of further development of the company. Gleb Mishin was a supporter of strategy Lanci.

In September, 2011 Mishin was appointed to the position of the vice president of Acer for EEMEA region (Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East) which includes more than 50 countries.

2012: Transition to Lenovo

In February, 2012 Mishin told CNews that he does not share a position of the global management of Acer which decided "cut down" some commodity groups, including smartphones. According to analysts, this direction is one of the most perspective in the market of electronics.

Later in February, 2012 Gleb Mishin left Acer. Announced a source in Acer this CNews. "Gleb resigned, Acer very much regrets and nevertheless wishes it all the best" — told CNews in the company.

"New work location is not defined yet, but, I think that anyway I will remain in IT. It is ready to consider interesting offers" — Gleb Mishin said CNews.

His misunderstanding of strategy of further development of the company and reputational risks connected with possible weakening of Acer owing to circumstances became the leaving reason, according to Mishin. One of the reasons, he added, there was also a campaign "Anti-Lancias" launched by the Taiwan leaders of Acer[1].

On April 9, 2012 it became known that Gleb Mishin received a position of the vice president in Lenovo and began to direct business of the company in Russia, the CIS countries and Eastern Europe.

Mishin was engaged in development of corporate and consumer business of the company and also gain of positions of product lines of Think and Idea in the region, specified CNews in Lenovo. He began to submit to Gianfranco Lanci who earlier also left Acer, and then headed Lenovo in EMEA region[2].

General managers of Bai Yulya (were responsible for work in Russia and the CIS) and Oliver Ebel (Eastern Europe), in turn, turned into subordination to Mishin.

"Everything that created Lancias, in Acer was crossed out with the stroke of the pen", - Gleb Mishin says. According to him, the choice of Lenovo as the employer for the former top management of Acer is very logical: "It is the only company in the market which sets really ambitious goals – to become number one in the PC market in the world, and has all resources in order that these purposes to reach", - Mishin in a conversation with CNews said.

Also the former head of Acer of Russia said what could be expected, as other managers of Acer will follow in Lenovo. Mishin noted that in addition to Lancia and him it was already made by some more top managers at the level of the management of EMEA and other countries. Mishin preferred not to tell the names of these top managers because official announcements about it were not yet.

2017

Leaving Lenovo

On March 25, 2017 Gleb Mishin announced resignation from a post of the head of the Russian office Lenovo. It is not going to work in the field of information technologies.

He noted that he does not intend to connect further career with IT. According to TAdviser, Mishin is not going to get the job connected with IT owing to features of terms of the contract with Lenovo.

Sergey Plaksin who joined Lenovo in March, 2017 passed to a position of the vice president of Lenovo in Russia, the CIS and countries of Eastern Europe which was occupied by Gleb Mishin in April, 2017.

In the message of Lenovo it is noted that during operating time in Lenovo Gleb Mishin provided to the company stable in Eastern Europe.

Under its management the Lenovo company reached and  saves   a PC market leadership in  Russia  for 5  years, achieved essential results in  all segments of business. He  directed successful start of smartphones and  Lenovo tablets in  the region  therefore, the company was included into  top three in  Russia and  Kazakhstan in  these categories, and   won first place in the market of Ukraine — reported in Lenovo.

Financing of Gadget Studio is IT restaurant

CNews found out details of financing of Gadget Studio - the "unique IT restaurant" which recently opened in the center of Moscow on Tverskaya Street. As the founder of the project Nikolay Turubar told, the main investor of Gadget Studio is[3].

In total in the different cities of Russia and the former Soviet Union four restaurants Gadget Studio will be open, and start of the second should take place in Kazakhstan. The general investments into opening of all four restaurants will make 200 million rubles. Further the project will continue the expansion on a franchize.

30% of financing of Gadget Studio are intended to be received using a kraudinvesting: the scheme which is seldom applied in Russia with share investment. Persons interested can make a contribution to the amount from 500 thousand rubles.

The contribution is made out in the form of a loan for a period of five years. Participants of the scheme will gain income on one of two schemes at the choice: or the fixed percent - 12% per annum, or a share from revenues of restaurant.

Alexey Tsyganov who was earlier working as the deputy chief editor of the Men's Health and digital content magazine manager of the Russian representative office of Coca Cola became the first public participant of the scheme of a kraudinvesting. Tsyganov invested 1 million rubles in the project.

The head of Candy-Hoover in Russia

On May 22, 2017 the Candy-Hoover Group company, one of leaders of the European market of large and small home appliances, announced Gleb Mishin's appointment the new CEO of the Russian division. Date of taking office — on May 22.

Candy-Hoover Group expresses confidence that Mr. Mishin will be able competently and professionally to develop the strategic line of development of the company in the markets of Russia and in the CIS countries.

"After rapid two years' growth of Candy-Hoover Group in Europe we resolved to focus on the Russian market and to become the leader in segments of large (MDA) and small (SDA) of home appliances. I am very glad that Mr. Mishin joined our command, and is sure that he will be able to repeat the success which showed in IT market earlier" — the executive commercial director of group Sammy Levitte reported.

Gleb replaced on a post of the CEO Anton Kharin holding a position since May, 2013.
