Gordon Earl Moore (engl. Gordon Earl Moore)  is the founder of Intel company, the Honorary Chairman of Board of Directors, the author of the empirical law on doubling of number of transistors.

Was born on January 3, 1929 in San Francisco, California (USA).

Biography, career

In the 1950th year he graduated from Berkeley University and was awarded the bachelor's degrees in the field of chemistry. After  — Moore received the doctor's degree in chemical and physical areas (upon termination of Institute of Technology in California). By the way, in addition, Gordon managed to be disaccustomed in San Jose State University in which he got acquainted with the future spouse. In the 1968th year Gordon founded Intel corporation in which some time fulfilled the vice president's duties. In the 1975th year offered it a post of the president and at the same time  — the chief executive. Moore agreed and held these positions up to April of the 1979th year. Then he was appointed the chairman of the board of directors of the company and also  — the chief executive officer. The leading Gordon Moore's activity continued till 1987th year. In the 1997th year Moore was awarded ranks of the Honorary Chairman of Board of Directors (at that time time Gordon already reached a retirement age).
