Biography

Ray Ozzie was born in Chicago, Illinois, the USA, then the Park Ridge of the same state where in 1973 it graduated from school where he was engaged in studying of mainframes moved to the city. He received degree of the bachelor of computer sciences in 1979 in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he worked on the PLATO system.

Career

Started a career in Data General Corporation, then continued in Software Arts and Lotus Development. It left the last in 1984 and founded Iris Associates where worked on a product which began to be on sale further Lotus as Lotus Notes. Iris Associates purchased Lotus in 1994, and then IBM in 1995. Then Ray Ozzie worked in Groove Networks which was absorbed by Microsoft in 2005.

Leaving Microsoft

At the end of 2010 - the beginning of 2011 of Microsoft Bob Muglia, the head of division of servers and business tools and also the president of division of Business Division Stephen Elop, the vice president for the strategy of Windows Mike Nash (Mike Nash), the president of division of entertainments and devices Robbie Bach, the director of the Genuine Software program Alex Kochis, the vice president of the Windows group Bill Veghte and the main software architect Ray Ozzie left. Ozzie worked in corporation since 2006.

Under the leadership of Ozzie Microsoft took a number of significant steps to areas of development of cloud products and services, including IaaS Azure and platform of development. After leaving Ozzie's Microsoft some time was headed by Talko startup specializing in creation of mobile applications. Ozzie is also known as one of creators of Lotus Notes.

Transition to HP

Ray Ozzie, the leading software architect who left Microsoft in 2011 together with a number of other key top managers in July, 2013 found a job in Board of Directors of HP as the last needs the guide to further market penetration of the corporate software and related services.

Ozzie one of three new board members of HP who filled up it in July, 2013. Along with it also James Skinner, the former head of McDonald company and the acting chairman of the board of directors of Walgreens and also the former head of Liberty Media Corporation company Robert Bennett entered there.
