Biography

Alexander Ponkin was born in Moscow in 1976.

In 1998 he graduated from the State University of Management with a degree in World Economics.

He began his career in 1993 at the Progress Research Institute.

From 1994 to 1997 he worked in the joint Russian-Chinese enterprise Rossaitko.

From 1997 to 2011, he worked in the Russian office of Ericsson Corporation JSC, where he successively held the positions of specialist, group leader, department head, project manager for the construction of a 3G communication network in Russia.

From 2011 to 2013, he managed various investment projects at Aist-Invest.

Since May 2013, he has been working at the Ministry of Communications as Deputy Director of the Department of Infrastructure Projects.

In 2015, he was promoted to head of the Department of Infrastructure Projects of the Ministry of Communications.

On March 15, 2016, he was appointed Director of the Department for Regulation of Radio Frequencies and Communication Networks.

According to the declaration of Alexander Ponkin for 2017, he owns three land plots with a total area of ​ ​ 4.6 hectares. In addition, Ponkin is the owner of an interesting fleet: two Porsche 911 cars, two Audi A6 cars, one Porsche Carrera and one Jaguar XJ[1].
