2019: 5 years of prison for the message on Twitter

On September 3, 2019 Vladislav Sinitsa  was sentenced to 5 years of prison for the message on Twitter on which allowed illegal acts concerning children of security officers. The Russian blogger was found UK, guilty on the Paragraph "and" of Part 2 of Article 282 ("The excitation of hatred or hostility concerning a group of persons made publicly").

As reported in the press service  of the Russian Investigative Committee, within investigation psikhologo-linguistic expertize which confirmed was carried out: the Sinitsa's post contained appeals to extremist activity.

The following record which Sinitsa placed on Twitter on July 31, 2019 under the alias "Max Steklov" became a reason for criminal case. 

Law enforcement agencies found in the message appeals to violent acts against security officers, signs of threat and excitation of hatred to them.

The blogger was recognized in the publication of this message, but said that he does not consider himself guilty of extremism. According to him, words took out of a context.  The prosecutor insisted  that the blogger published a post, "realizing the actual nature and  public danger of the actions".

The court considered that someone could apprehend the text as the instruction and to do harm to children of law enforcement authorities who fulfilled duties on unauthorized actions in Moscow.

The employee of the National Guard of the Russian Federation acted as the witness in the case of Sinitsa. According to him, on August 1 he came home from work, opened phone to look at news, Odnoklassniki, Twitter and "saw these messages — appeals to kidnap rosgvardeyets for the subsequent punishment".

On court session the prosecutor's office demanded to impose to the blogger sentence in the form of six years of colony, however the court appointed term to a year less. Will serve the Sinitsa's sentence in standard regime penal colony.[1]
