2007: Criminal case

On November 13, 2007 - it was invited for a conversation in Investigative Committee at prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation (SKP Russian Federation) concerning the brought criminal case under the Articles 30 and 159 of the Criminal code "Attempt at Plunder of Money or Property in the Fraudulent Way"[4].

On November 15, 2007 - it was delayed within criminal case about attempt of embezzlement of budget funds.

From November, 2007 to January, 2011 - was under examination on a charge of attempt at plunder of money from the state budget of the Russian Federation in especially large size.

On November 23, 2007 - the Investigative Committee at prosecutor's office brought to Sergey Storchak charge under the Articles 30 and 159 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation (attempt at the fraud committed by organized group or in especially large size)[5].

On December 3, 2007 - the Investigative Committee at prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation confirmed officially that concerning Sergey Storchak one more criminal case on signs of the crime provided by Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation was brought.

January 10, 2008 - Basmanny Court of Moscow prolonged the term of keeping of Sergey Storchak under guards till April 9, 2008.

On October 6, 2008 - the investigation brought charge to Sergey Storchak of a final version, having incriminated him in addition abuse of office[6]

During the investigation Sergey Storchak spent 11 months to the pre-trial detention center - at first in Lefortovo, then in Matrosskaya Tishina, then again in Lefortovo - however in October, 2008 was released on recognizance[7].

On January 31, 2011 - Sergey Storchak's lawyer reported that the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation dismissed the case against his client[8].

2020: Resignation from a post of the Deputy Minister of Finance

On March 3, 2020 the prime minister Mikhail Mishustin dismissed the Deputy Minister of Finance Sergey Storchak.

In the document the reason for leaving — "in connection with a job change" is specified. The order is signed on March 3.

The following order to the position of the Deputy Minister of Finance appoints Timur Maximov holding a position of the Deputy Minister of Economic Development.

Possible resignation of Storchak became known in the middle of February from messages of RIA Novosti, TASS and Interfax. They specified that the decision on dismissal of the deputy minister "is essentially made", referring to sources. Then they announced that Maximov can become Storchak's successor.

In June, 2019 to Sergey Storchak 65 years were performed. This age is limit for stay on civil service, however for the deputy minister it can be prolonged.
