Klaus Tschira — one of founders and shareholders of SAP company. As of June, 2008 Klaus Tschira owned 9.24% of stocks of the company.

Biography

Klaus Tschira was born on December 7, 1940 in the city of Freiburg (the southern part of Germany). He studied in a gymnasium of Helmholtz in Karlsruhe and received scientific degree on physics and the diploma at the technical university in the same city in 1966. In the same year Tschira started the career in IBM, having received a position of the adviser for computing systems in Mannheim. He was amateur astronomer, in honor of the founder of SAP one of asteroids is called.

1972: Foundation of SAP and activity

In 1972 Klaus Tschira left IBM and together with the colleagues Dietmar Hopp, Hans-Verner Hector (Hans-Werner Hector), Claus Vellenroyter and Hasso Plattner founded SAP. The last by March 31, 2015 remains the chairman of the board of SAP.

In a camp of SAP Klaus Tschira was engaged in software development in the field of personnel management. It promoted entry of the company into the exchange in 1988.

Tschira joined the board of SAP within 10 years — from 1988 to 1998. From 1998 to 2007 he was a member of the supervisory board of the company.

2015: Claus's death of Tschira

Klaus Tschira died on March 31, 2015. He was 74 years old. He had Gerda Tschira wife and two sons. Of Tschira announced the Bloomberg agency with reference to SAP company Klaus death. The cause of death is not stated.[1]

"He was a good person, he really loved products which he developed and advanced" — the former chief executive of SAP Leo Apotheker remembers. – He also strongly was fond of science and technology to which he devoted a lot of time and forces after the leaving SAP".

According to authors of rating the richest people of the planet of Bloomberg Billionaires Index, at the time of the death Klaus Tschira took the 196th place in the list with a net status in $7 billion.
