Alexey Valentinovich Ulyukaev was born on March 23, 1956 in Moscow.

Education

In 1979 he graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov.

In 1982 - graduate school of Moscow State University, where he received a Ph.D. in economics.

From 1982 to 1988, Alexey Ulyukaev was engaged in teaching at the Moscow Civil Engineering Institute. In 1988 he received a doctorate in economics (PhD) from the French University Pierre-Mendes France.

Career

In 1991-1994 worked as an economic adviser to the government of the Russian Federation and assistant to the first deputy chairman of the government. In 1994, he moved to the post of deputy head of the Institute for Economic Problems of the Transition (IEPP).

In 2000-2004 served as Deputy Minister of Finance.

Since 2004, he has been a member of the Board of Directors and holds the position of First Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia, where he heads the Monetary Policy Committee.

As of July 2012, Alexey Ulyukaev is a member of the supervisory boards of Sberbank, VTB and RDIF.

Since June 24, 2013 - Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

2016: Detention for Bribe

2022: Parole

On April 28, 2022, the court of first instance granted the parole of the ex-head of the Ministry of Economy Alexei Ulyukaev.

On May 12, 2022, Alexei Ulyukaev was released on parole. He spent 5.5 years in the colony.
