The documents say that Vekselberg, who lives in Switzerland and has been under US sanctions since April 2018, opened two accounts with PostFinance in the fall of that year: in Swiss francs and euros. However, in December, the bank notified him of the termination of business relations with him and the closure of accounts.

As a result, the Federal Court decided to cancel the decision of the Bern court and satisfy Vekselberg's claim. The bank was obliged to maintain business relations with the plaintiff, as well as continue to serve his accounts. PostFinance must also pay legal costs in the amount of 8 thousand Swiss francs (about $8.6 thousand) and pay Vekselberg 9 thousand (about $9.7 thousand) compensation.

Arrest of Briton and arrest warrant for Russian for concealing Vekselberg yacht

In January 2023, the US authorities charged Russian Vladislav Osipov with trying to remove the yacht of businessman Viktor Vekselberg from sanctions and issued a warrant for his arrest, the US Department of Justice said.

The Tango yacht, estimated to cost $90 million, was detained in Spain in April 2022 on an American request.

The investigation claims that Osipov, together with Briton Richard Masters, tried to hide Vekselberg's ownership of the 255-foot-long Tango yacht worth $90 million, which is subject to American sanctions, and ensure its operation through companies and the US financial system. Both persons involved in the case were charged with conspiracy to deceive the US authorities, violation of the sanctions regime and money laundering.

Spanish police have arrested Masters, 52, who is facing extradition to the US. An arrest warrant has been issued against Osipov, who also has Swiss citizenship. The case file states that he worked in high positions in various Vekselberg companies.
