imagePROGRAF PRO-300 of the A3+ format

On July 9, 2020 the Canon Europe company announced release of the imagePROGRAF PRO-300 printer of the A3+ format which will suit both photographers, and photographic studios of any format and photolaboratories.

The representative of a lineup of Canon imagePROGRAF PRO succeeds the PIXMA PRO-10S printer, offering photographers qualitative prints in combination with the convenient software and the thought-over design. The imagePROGRAF PRO-300 printer is equipped with the built-in functions of automatic change of nozzles and corrections of a possible distortion at printing which reduce a consumption of ink and paper. The imagePROGRAF PRO-300 printer supports printing without fields on all types of carriers and increases density black and the saturation of flowers at printing on art and glossy photographic paper. Users of imagePROGRAF PRO-300 will receive in the order feature set within uniform workflow — from creation of the image before receiving a ready print, claim in Canon.

According to the producer, thanks to quality of monochrome and color print in a format to A3+ the imagePROGRAF PRO-300 printer will become the assistant to photographers who need to provide qualitative prints on different tenders, in galleries, on exhibitions or to send them to buyers. In the system of printing of the printer the pigmental LUCIA PRO ink of 10 flowers providing a complete color scope for depth of each shade is applied. For transfer of dark tones and expressive black-and-white photos in this model opaque black ink and ink are applied to a photo printing that allows to try to obtain on glossy and art photographic paper of more saturated shades of black. Specialized transparent Chroma Optimiser ink smoothes color deviations on glossy and semi-gloss carriers, reducing effect of a bronzing and improving tone transitions.

The Canon L-COA PRO processor provides printing quality and well copes with large volumes of these images, at high speeds calculating an optimal grid of imposing of drops of ink and displaying A3 format print less than in five minutes, emphasized in Canon. The feed system of LUCIA PRO ink allows photographers without excess efforts over and over again to receive good results on different carriers. The printer is equipped with separate nozzles for opaque black and black for a photo printing and does not need manual switching from some to others — he automatically selects suitable type of ink depending on the loaded paper, saving time and reducing the material consumption.

According to the statement of the producer, imagePROGRAF PRO technology guarantee that pictures will be recreated precisely and quickly. One of the biggest problems in the photo is connected with contamination of nozzles and the subsequent inexact putting ink. To prevent this problem, imagePROGRAF PRO-300 detects incorrect operation of nozzles and switches to reserve nozzles, excepting emergence of bands on the begun print. If when giving paper moved, function of automatic correction of a distortion will eliminate this defect, and the paper will be submitted to the printing block exactly. Besides, imagePROGRAF PRO-300 checks the level of viscosity of ink and periodically stirs up cartridges, providing uniform consistence in each of them and, as a result, guaranteeing a stable color rendition. Thanks to the accurate color three-inch LCD display photographers will be able quickly to find the necessary functions in the menu of the printer, to check the level of ink and to change paper parameters.

The provided model supports function of printing without fields in all modes and on different carriers, including paper for art printing. Photographers can also create panoramic images of any length up to 990.6 mm. Printing both on carriers of Canon, and on materials of Hahnemuhle, Canson, Awagami and other producers is supported, noted in Canon.

The compact printer of the A3+ format optimizes printing process as for one photographer in house conditions, and for a full-fledged photolaboratory. According to the producer, it is possible to control completely prints in software of Canon Professional Print & Layout which is delivered free of charge complete with imagePROGRAF PRO-300. The solution is available both in the form of separate software, and in the form of the connected module to the Canon Digital Photo Professional software packages, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. It allows to manage a color gamma, to select profiles and to configure the model, for example to print panoramic and multisegment images. Also function of trial prints — screen and physical is available — which will provide compliance of flowers on the screen and at printing. The imagePROGRAF PRO-300 printer is connected to PC or to the computer Mac through network Wi-Fi, Ethernet or USB- connection, supporting different workflows.

Software of Canon Professional Print & Layout well works with the cameras Canon EOS and has functions which in combination with opportunities of imagePROGRAF PRO-300 allow to reach reliability at printing of pictures. Such functions as printing of DPRAW and HDR, allow to read out RAW data directly from the cameras EOS precisely to reproduce sharp sections of photos and to recover parts in light areas of pictures — even those which were made not in the HDR mode, claim in Canon.

On February 6, 2020 the Canon company provided five updated models of a series of imagePROGRAF PRO devices. These devices allow to create bright posters and reproductions of pictures without fields which will make an indelible impression.

According to the company, printers allow to set the second roll with the carrier and to send a task to queue while on the first roll printing proceeds. The printer remembers how often and for what the user uses these or those materials therefore he recognizes more and more precisely the paper each time. Two sensors — on a roller and near print area — measure the number of paper, and this information is displayed on a control panel. Thanks to it the user will be sure that he should not return to the printer before end of a task. Also developers added separate keys for the most widespread transactions, such as loading, giving and a cut so work with devices became simpler even more.

Printing is in fact the embodiment of the ideas on paper. We long discussed with our clients, engaged in large-format printing that slows down work and what causes most of all negative emotions. The complexity of work with carriers was the most frequent answer option. Therefore process optimization which involves increase in productivity, so, and profitability became key point when developing printers of the imagePROGRAF PRO series. Printing of a test template will save from numerous tests of printing and long setup of flowers. Instead the user will receive several reduced images for check of brightness, contrast and other parameters. It is less than excess prints — less unnecessary expenses.

Prints without fields look much more effectively, however it is not always so simple to receive them, and finishing processing can take away a lot of time. 2017: imagePROGRAF PRO-6000

On September 6, 2017 the Canon company announced release of the 12-colored inkjet printer for professional printing on carriers up to 60 inches wide (152 cm).

The 12-colored feed system of ink of the printer provides quality of a photo printing. Function of simultaneous printing of two images increases performance. The device is executed in compact design.
