2019: Beginning of sales

In December, 2019 Cisco provided the first chip, held for sale to clients. It is about the special purpose integrated circuit (ASIC) which received the name Cisco Silicon One and is focused on use in network equipment.

The first Q100 model which, according to developers, provides routing performance at the level of 10 Tbit / with without deteriorations in programmability, buffering, energy efficiency, scalability and functional flexibility entered into family of Cisco Silicon One chips. The release of solutions with indicators to 25 Tbit / page is in the future planned.

The company carries cloud providers and telecommunication operators to the main buyers of Cisco Silicon One. By December 12, 2019 at least two large customers representing a telecom showed willingness to come trudging Cisco chips for increase in network performance of the infrastructure. Facebook also intends to use Cisco Silicon One.

Chips of Cisco Silicon One it will also be applied in own equipment. Routers of the Cisco 8000 series became the first such devices. They are created with  the purpose to help service providers and the large companies to reduce costs for creation and operation of large-scale networks during an era of a 5G, artificial intelligence and Internet of Things, said in Cisco.[1]
