On July 6, 2020 the Honeywell company submitted the program of services of complete lifecycle of Enabled Services automation systems based on Honeywell Forge designed to provide working capacity and normative compliance of automated process control systems (APCS).

The provided program, according to Honeywell, will allow the industrial companies to focus on primary activity — production — without worrying about routine maintenance of automation systems. The company offers opportunities of remote support and extensive experience in the industry for assessment, control and optimization of the automation equipment without the need for physical presence on an object.

According to the developer, the Honeywell Enabled Services program allows to lower number of incidents in a year by 40%, at the same time pure reduction of total ownership cost will be 15%.

According to the statement of the developer, according to the model of provision of services and solutions for lifecycle (Lifecycle Solutions & Services) developed taking into account opinions of clients from around the world the solution Enabled Services is under construction on three basic principles:

  • working capacity and effectiveness of systems – in other words, identification of what occurs not so at the enterprise;
  • observance of regulatory requirements – why something went wrong;
  • the ordering service and recovery – as it is possible to solve problems.

In the program of Honeywell the intuitive and approved Honeywell Forge dashboards on which in real time analytical information for ensuring performance level is displayed are used. She also uses means of remote connection and/or collecting of local data, means of forecasting and diagnostics and the global centers of resources. Increase in operating rooms and business indicators will become result, the developer claims.

When developing the Enabled Services program special attention was paid to security. For data transmission from the customer's object in the global centers of resources Honeywell the protected network connections on the basis of recognized industry standards, for example IEC 62443 are used.

By estimates of Honeywell, thanks to pro-active approach the Enabled Services program provides more high efficiency in comparison with regulations of single service, own solutions of users which can threaten readiness of systems for upgrade and also postponement of service and repair up to a hardware failure. The complete solution can help heads of the companies and enterprises and also to controls engineers to solve the following problems:

  • analyze and optimize effectiveness of production and risk profiles;
  • with benefit to use systems, applications and labor power;
  • focus on core competencies, due to target use of personnel with the corresponding qualification;
  • increase working capacity, security and stability of management tools.

Two levels of support within the Enabled Services program — depending on customers needs are provided. At the level of Enabled Services Enhanced permanent remote connection is used and continuous collecting of the valuable data on working capacity, effectiveness, normative compliance of a system is provided. The Enabled Services Essential level is intended for service of not connected systems and provides less frequent updates.
