2019: Integration with the fulfillment management system Ozon.ru

The integration of the Ozon fulfillment management system, a multi-category e-commerce site, with the digital service of the Russian Post otpravka.pochta.ru made Internet purchases more accessible to residents of 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Thanks to the integration of the systems of two players, the delivery time of 42 thousand Russian Post offices was halved. For example, customers in Sakhalin and Chukotka, in the Omsk and Irkutsk regions now receive orders in 3 days. Thus, residents of the most remote territories of the country received operational access to 2.1 million commodity items, the federal postal operator reported on August 21, 2019.

The reduction in delivery times has already affected the popularity of purchases on Ozon - for example, according to the Post, the number of orders from regions delivered through the Russian Post increased by 200%.

Ozon's fulfillment factories now operate "implants" of the Russian Post - this service reduces the preferred processing of orders and allows you to transfer orders from Ozon to the Russian Post 6 times a day instead of one. The integration of digital services of the Russian Post with the Ozon website and application has also been implemented - now customers see the most accurate terms and tariffs for the delivery of orders by the Russian Post to the most remote regions of the country.

As of August 2019, the Russian Post has 42 thousand branches throughout the country, of which about 30 thousand are located in sparsely populated areas.

Russian Post, as a universal logistic operator with a developed last mile, has all the capabilities to implement such projects: a large-scale network of branches, the country's largest courier service and a large fleet of cars, - said the first deputy general director of the Russian Post for e-commerce. 40% of Russians live in cities with a population of less than 250 thousand people - there the online trading infrastructure is still poorly developed, and the assortment in offline retail is small, which greatly limits people in their choice, - said Andrei Pavlovich, director of the supply chain at Ozon. - At the same time, the potential for demand here is very high - in the first half of 2019, Ozon sales in the regions increased more than 2 times year-on-year. The development of regional logistics infrastructure will help to realize the potential, including together with partners - thanks to integration with the Russian Post, we have made an assortment of 2.1 million products much more accessible even for residents of the most remote territories.

According to a Data Insight survey of the urgent delivery market, 41% of respondents at least once needed urgent delivery over the past three months, while 35% of them did not succeed in using urgent delivery due to the lack of such an opportunity for online stores. Delivery speed is also crucial for making online shopping decisions.

2018: Teaming up with EBay

On October 11, 2018, Russian Post announced the start of cooperation with eBay aimed at developing retail exports from Russia and simplifying logistics procedures for domestic exporters. The partnership involves the integration of the Russian otpravka.pochta.ru Post system into a single seller's office on the eBay platform, which includes, among other things, the ability to track parcels for Russian exporters. Thanks to integration, Russian sellers will be able to draw up documents and pay for international departure online without leaving their office or home.

Signing a Cooperation Agreement

Full access to information and services of the Russian Post will be opened from the seller's office at the eBaymag.com site, a special service for exporters from Russia and Eastern Europe. The service allows you to place goods simultaneously on eight eBay sites in different countries. All product data is automatically translated into ten languages, and prices are set in local currency.

As of October 2018, in a single eBaymag.com office, sellers will be able to automatically calculate the cost of delivery of goods with a commodity investment by Russian Post anywhere in the world, draw up the necessary documents and make payment online. In addition, through the personal account on the eBay website, buyers from 192 countries will be able to track their orders using the automatically assigned tracking number of the Russian Post. eBay export sellers now have two ways to ship their goods abroad easier and faster by Russian Post:

1. Prepaid parcels are issued at the Parcel Delivery and Reception Center.

To do this, the exporter needs to enter information about the sender and recipient in the seller's office on the ebaymag.com platform, receive a form with a track number, pay for it online and glue it to the parcel. The main advantage of this method is that the decorated and paid parcel can be handed over without a queue.

2. Execution of pre-filled parcels with a package of documents in all post offices.

To do this, the exporter also needs to enter information about the sender and recipient, receive a form with a track number, print it and present it to the operator in the department who scans the track number, and all information will appear in the system. After that, all that remains is to weigh the parcel and make payment.

Quality logistics is half of a successful business for an exporter. Integration with Russian Post is the most important milestone in our work to develop the service for export sellers from Russia. eBay has become a marketplace that has received a strategic opportunity for its sellers to simplify the processing of export shipments from a national carrier. As of October 2018, 25,000 Russian sellers on eBay will be able to ship their goods to buyers around the world easier and faster, which means they can receive more orders and develop their business on our site. Such partnerships are key to the development of Russian exports.
