According to ABBYY company (data of October, 2014), its technologies of stream input of documents and data use in the work 80 of TOP 100 of the Russian banks (according to the rating of the Banki.ru portal). Despite an unstable economic situation, the organizations, including from the bank industry, continue to implement the IT solutions providing business process optimization. Implementation of systems in the field of stream input of data – one of methods to reduce costs, to increase overall effectiveness of work and to be competitive that is especially relevant for banks.

On average, according to experts of ABBYY, such systems allow to reduce costs for document handling more than by 50%. At the same time return of investments from their implementation averages from 3 months to 1 year. Solutions of ABBYY allow to increase data input rate to 10 times and to reduce errors at input at least by 3 times.

2019

The announcement of ID.Abonent using technologies of ABBYY and VisionLabs

On June 20, 2019 the company ABBYY announced developed by the company GoldenSIM in partnership with ABBYY and VisionLabs mobile application ID.Abonent which allows to register far off SIM cards in network telecom operators. The solution using technologies of ABBYY and VisionLabs on the fly will recognize passport data, confirms the personality of the user and sends information on the new client to the operator. In ABBYY FlexiCapture the technology of natural languag processing appeared

On January 11, 2019 ABBYY reported that it complemented the ABBYY FlexiCapture platform with technologies of natural languag processing (Natural language proccessing, NLP). Now the solution can take data from unstructured documents, such as agreements, charters, powers of attorney, letters or texts of news. Besides, in the solution there was a functionality for assessment and improvement of quality of images and also the mobile client. These opportunities do ABBYY FlexiCapture by the universal platform for intellectual processing of any information of different sources, including smartphones.

Thanks to NLP technologies, the platform is able to find important entities, such as names, names of the organizations and the address in texts of documents and also to elicit the significant facts and communications between them. With the add-on functional modules NLP ABBYY FlexiCapture lawyers will be able quicker to analyze many times multipage agreements, to reveal significant terms of transaction and to create cards of documents in a corporate system.

ABBYY FlexiCapture effectively takes information even from low-quality images – for example, vague pictures or the deformed documents. The platform can process images with a difficult background, printings, watermarks, holograms or corrections by the handle. The solution cuts off the scan or the photo on limits of the document, aligns a background, increases sharpness of the text and deletes unnecessary elements, such as signs and seals. If a system understands that qualitatively it will not be possible to recognize data, then sends to the user the notification on need to take one more picture or the scan. It helps to lower load of the staff of the company, in advance having excluded the images not suitable for processing.

Now the ABBYY FlexiCapture platform supports also mobile data entry. Using ABBYY FlexiCapture Mobile Client the user can photograph the document on phone and send it to the ABBYY FlexiCapture server. The application will be useful for exit managers – for example quickly to process client documents at remote execution of the account, insurance policy or map of loyalty.

2017: FlexiCapture uses machine learning technologies now

On July 13 the ABBYY company announced updating of the ABBYY FlexiCapture system. In the updated solution are used machine learning technology and convolution neural networks which allow the large organizations to manage flexibly all information in a single stream.

Single solution for all document types

The updated FlexiCapture is capable to become a crucial element of corporate infrastructure in the large organizations which manage a set of business processes and process a big information stream, developers claim. The platform classifies and takes data from the entering e-mails and investments, paper documents, electronic documents in office formats, photos from cameras and mobile devices. The solution is easily scaled and is suitable for processing of any amount of documentation.

Autotraining

On results of operation of verifiers a system itself learns to take data from a number of documents that allows to configure quickly templates for new document types. According to developers, it is especially important when implementing large-scale projects with need to process a large number of data.

2015

ABBYY FlexiCapture 11

On February 5, 2015 ABBYY provided FlexiCapture 11, the version of a system of stream input which automatically takes data from paper documents and saves them in an enterprise information system. Using this solution, the companies reduce costs thanks to increase in processing speed of documents and improve quality of the entered data.

ABBYY FlexiCapture is demanded in the organizations of the different industries: bank, insurance, power, oil and gas, telecommunication and others and also in public sector.

With the 11th version began to verify quicker and more conveniently documents from which it is necessary to take a large number of data, – multipage delivery notes, invoices, documents of currency exchange control, etc. Such opportunity is especially important for the companies of financial, industrial sectors and retail. That it was convenient to operator to be guided in the document, features for logical grouping or turning of fields are added that increases data processing rate.

ABBYY FlexiCapture allows to recognize better documents of bad quality, even where values of some fields are badly read because of blots or low-quality to printing. It will simplify document flow in the geographically distributed companies which work with a large number of partners. The solution can only on one found field, for example, to the company name or a BIC, to substitute all other values from base of suppliers. Standardization helps to increase quality of data: regardless of in what format the amount and date in the incoming document are specified, ABBYY FlexiCapture will enter data into a direct system in the format set by the company. All this helps to minimize errors at document handling.

Also in the new version features for intellectual document handling on the basis of their contents are added. Now ABBYY FlexiCapture allows to configure flexibly stages and logic of document handling on the basis of any data from the document: name of the sender, region, date, letter subject, etc. For example, if the company works with a large number of suppliers, it is possible to configure automatic routing of documents according to the company name.

Besides, new opportunities of export are implemented, the architecture and convenience of administration of a system is improved. And reduction of time for implementation and setup of the project became possible thanks to support of a universal language of development (.NET of scripts).

Testing of ABBYY FlexiCapture on servers of Huawei

At the end of 2015 Huawei and ABBYY became strategic partners. Among the first results – setup of system configuration of stream input of data and the documents ABBYY FlexiCapture on servers of Huawei. With this joint solution corporate clients can process more than 1.5 million pages of documents a day.

Tests of ABBYY FlexiCapture on servers of Huawei came to the end in November of last year. Thanks to special setup of the ABBYY FlexiCapture configuration on the Huawei FusionCube E9000 and Huawei RH1288 v3 servers it was succeeded to reach the high performance of a system of stream input of data.

Such performance is required to the large companies and public institutions for processing of large volume of documents in short terms. So banks need to carry out currency exchange control from 3 to 10 days in time, and hands-off processing of client documents considerably accelerates this process. In power distribution companies the flow of finance documents needs to be processed during the last 10 days of month. The maximum load on a system falls on this period and requires high performance. In FTS Russia document handling volumes during tax statements make over 1 million pages a day.

2014: ABBYY FlexiCapture 10

The product automates information extraction from paper documents and saves data in an enterprise information system, says the company. ABBYY FlexiCapture allows to process different types of documents: as with the fixed structure (questionnaires, examination sheets, insurance forms, tax declarations), and semistructured (accounts, way bills) and unstructured documents (agreements and letters).

Among features of ABBYY FlexiCapture 10 there is an increased fault tolerance based on support of cluster technology of Microsoft Cluster Server. The cluster or a set of independent computers provides the continuity of workflow, availability and safety of important information even at serious hardware failures and software. As believe in the companies, implementation of the increased fault tolerance can be demanded in government institutions, transport companies, banks, mobile operators and in other companies in whose activity the continuity of processing of documents is critical.

In the projects connected with stream input and extraction of data, one of key is the stage of creation of descriptions of documents. The system of stream input of data determines by them what is the document and what information from it it is necessary to take. The technologies of self-training of a system implemented in ABBYY FlexiCapture 10 allow not only to automate process of creation of descriptions of documents, but also give the chance to specialists to edit such descriptions right after their creation — for improvement of result of system operation further. It, in turn, reduces and simplifies accomplishment of a stage of setup of a system. Creation of the qualifier of documents and its setup in the new version of a product can also automatically be made, by training of a system at 3-5 examples of documents of each type.

In addition to earlier supported operation mode in the local area network in ABBYY FlexiCapture 10 interaction of jobs of operators with the system server on the Internet is implemented. The web interface of the station of verification allows to make remote data validation. Thus, the companies can employ personnel in other regions or the countries now and to reduce costs at the expense of a possibility of use of remote jobs.

For the scanning station in the new version of ABBYY FlexiCapture remote installation on the Internet is also supported. At the same time settings of scanning can be set by the operator on site or are loaded from the server. This technology allows to create the centralized electronic archive of documents in the companies with wide territorial network.

The Optimzirovanny scalability not only provides simple transition of a system from local installation type to network, but also allows to increase the number of the processed pages, developers claim. It does ABBYY FlexiCapture 10 demanded both for the enterprises of small and medium business, and in the large organizations and projects.


ABBYY FlexiCapture 10 automatically processes large volumes of different document types in one flow. The program selects separate documents from a flow, takes from them necessary yielded and sends results together with the image of the original document to databases, archives and any applications. With the solution of ABBYY the different organizations, including insurance companies and banks, large corporations, government structures and educational institutions, can automate process of input of documents and data in information systems, to reduce costs and to increase customer service quality.

Emergence in the program of the new features allowing to use even more widely possibilities of web stations is caused by requirements of the market. ABBYY FlexiCapture 9.0 is the solution for stream input of data and document handling. Automatically takes information from paper documents and forms and saves it for different enterprise information systems.

The product represents the uniform center of input of documents and is capable to process any document types regardless of structure:

  • Forms with tough structure / the structured documents: questionnaires, examination tests, forms, insurance forms, requests for payment of the health insurance, tax declarations, etc.
  • Semistructured documents: accounts, purchase orders, way bills, etc.
  • Unstructured documents: letters, contracts, articles, etc.

  • Server architecture. The architecture of ABBYY FlexiCapture 9.0 includes several servers: processing server, application server, server of licenses and server of data.
  • The special selected stations. For distribution of functionality of a system within the organization there are special selected stations: station of setup, scanning station, station of verification, station of verification of data and station of administration and monitoring.
  • Remote station of scanning. This station allows to send the scanned documents for processing through the HTTP protocol.
  • Remote station of verification of data. Allows to make verification process flexible and to reduce costs for document handling.
  • Console of remote administration and monitoring. Allows to manage a system from any place through the Web protocol.

The product is intended for embedding of technologies of intellectual document handling and stream input of data in software solutions. At the heart of tools — ABBYY FlexiCapture technology which is used for processing of a different document type: with the fixed structure (questionnaires, examination sheets, insurance forms, tax declarations), semistructured (accounts, way bills) and unstructured (contracts, letters), says ABBYY.

Tools 9.0 differ optimized, in comparison with the previous version, work in multithreaded server solutions and also support both 32-, and 64-bit architecture. Began to create proprietary applications using ABBYY FlexiCapture Engine of version 9.0 much quicker and more simply, claim in the company. For convenience of developers in SDK possibilities of API are completely updated and expanded (application programming interface is the application programming interface).

So, API — FlexiCaptureProcessor — provides now direct access to FlexiCapture technologies that gives the chance to the developer through the code (but not the visual environment as was in the last version) to manage processing: load images, impose processing parameters, create the list of the imposed templates and perform unloading of data. At the same time the optimized developer guide allows to find quickly and easily necessary information, and the extensive library of source codes is divided into sections and contains the step-by-step instruction for work with them. Using examples of codes in the created application, it is possible to accelerate considerably development and to reduce learning process, emphasized in ABBYY.

Thanks to the new scenario Mobile Data Capture (MDC) it is possible to receive better results of image understanding, made the mobile phone camera — processing is performed on the server. The technology MDC allows to correct distortions, characteristic of photos, including trapezoid distortions, noise and illegibility.

In turn, the new multilevel qualifier of documents during the work with a large number of templates allows to identify previously separate pages and to carry them to a certain document type. Thanks to it search time of necessary document templates is reduced.

The technology of "black marker" protects confidential information on images and the PDF files. When using this technology on the document there is visible only that field which is necessary, confidential information disappears, being painted over by "black marker", explained in ABBYY.

Besides, ABBYY FlexiCapture Engine 9.0 allows to create the PDF files with ultrahigh compression of MRC (Mixed Raster Content). Using this technology file size can decrease up to 10 times, in comparison with JPEG compression.
