2017: ABBYY Monitoring took part in the project "I Will Pass the Unified State Examination!"

On May 26, 2017 the ABBYY company announced use of the Monitoring ABBYY platform within the project "I Will Pass the Unified State Examination!". Diagnostic works are carried out according to the results of check more than three thousand schools in 12 regions in 11 objects.

Preliminary results were ready in day of diagnostics. Teachers could correct the training plan quickly.

The Chechen republic, Karachay-Cherkessia, Dagestan, Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Tyva, Bashkortostan, Primorsky and Altai Krai, the Ulyanovsk and Sakhalin regions participated in the project. Diagnostic works with use of technologies of ABBYY carried out six Russian schools in the city of Baikonur, in Kazakhstan. The decision on participation was made by regional departments and the Ministries of Education.

Regional curators of the project processed and analyzed results by means of ABBYY Monitoring. The technology of ABBYY automates all stages of work:

  • preparation and printing of control measuring materials,
  • recognition and verification of filled forms,
  • assessment of the short and unrolled answers
  • formation of detailed statistic reports by results.

Unlike the USE, schools bore responsibility for printing of materials and scanning of forms (for this purpose on the Monitoring ABBYY platform personal accounts for each school are created) therefore specialists of regional information processing centers did not spend means and time for their delivery.

Staff of the educational organizations used the solution of ABBYY at all three stages of the project. For performing diagnostics it were required to them: computer and MFP, or printer and scanner.

At each stage of the project the Monitoring ABBYY platform created the individual sets for participants consisting of control measuring materials and forms of answers with unique codes of pupils. Teachers of schools printed materials on the eve of diagnostics, and tasks became available on the portal for an hour and a half prior to an action. It provided objective assessment of knowledge of school students.

After completion of diagnostics employees scanned the forms completed with pupils. The technology of ABBYY took data from forms with short answers and counted points of participants.

In the second and third cut of knowledge pupils performed tasks with the unrolled answer. They were checked on the portal of ABBYY Monitoring by more than 1.2 thousand experts from the regional subject commissions. During the project of ABBYY Monitoring processed more than 835 thousand forms.

In total using the Monitoring ABBYY platform 35 diagnostic works "Are carried out I will pass the Unified State Examination!" with participation of 46 thousand school students. According to the results of the project, since the beginning of academic year indicators of progress of graduates in some objects improved more, than for 10%. For example, the progress on social science grew by 17%, on information science – for 14%, in chemistry – for 11%.

One of project tasks 'I will pass the Unified State Examination!' – to define, how well pupils studied objects of a measure of end of each stage. Thanks to the Monitoring ABBYY platform, we quickly obtained data on on what subjects school students need to pay special attention. We prepared methodical materials for teachers who were used when correcting training programs.

The Chechen republic participates in the program the second year in a row. Based on last year, we considerably increased number of graduates who successfully passed the Unified State Examination in Russian and mathematics. The GPA and in objects of the choice grew. This year thanks to technologies of ABBYY we could refuse the centralized printing, save time and funds for delivery of materials to hardly accessible areas. As a result this year pupils of 378 schools from different corners of the Republic participated in the project.

Important features "I will pass the Unified State Examination!" is objective assessment of knowledge of graduates and an opportunity to make changes to the course of educational process. It is necessary that results of this project were used for improvement of quality of education, revealed strong and weaknesses, both pupils, and teachers.

2016: Release of ABBYY Monitoring

ABBYY Monitoring - the platform for mass independent diagnostics and quality evaluation of education.

On September 28, 2016 ABBYY announced release of the platform for performing independent diagnostics and quality evaluation of education - ABBYY Monitoring.

The platform integrates stages of diagnostic works and automates process of quality control of education from loading of control and measuring materials before formation of detailed analytical reports.

Monitoring works with ABBYY as the web portal available in the modern browser. Process of work with the platform is simple and occupies the minimum quantity of time. Teachers are included into the portal of ABBYY Monitoring, select the necessary diagnostic work, check the equipment, send tasks for printing and distribute them to school students. Then collect the works filled with pupils and scan them. After that short answers are automatically recognized, and in the presence of the unrolled answers, they are checked by experts and enter estimates into the system. Based on completion of data entry the platform automatically creates the complete analytical report.

We are engaged in projects in the field of education about 15 years, successfully we process the USE and OGE forms. Relying on the experience and understanding requirements of the market, we developed the Monitoring ABBYY platform. It helps schools, supervisory centers of quality of education already today and to the staff of the Ministries of Education as much as possible to automate monitoring process, to facilitate life to teachers and to save hundreds of hours annually. That using the platform can be understood precisely where there are problems, and quickly them to solve the most important.

Using ABBYY Monitoring printing processes, scannings and verifications can be executed it is centralized (in municipality, the region, RTsOI) and directly at school. Teachers or specially appointed experts of the region can check works with the unrolled answers. Cross validation is available to them. It is important that the special module for the unrolled answers allows experts to execute check on the computer, the tablet and on the mobile phone.

The platform does not require installation of additional software and existence of the modern equipment. For printing of forms, their scannings and processings are necessary: the computer with Internet connection, the printer, the scanner or the multifunctional device. It allows the schools located in hardly accessible areas to participate in monitoring actions freely. At the same time the region saves considerable means on logistics.

The platform contains ready control and measuring materials and allows to load new. With its help it is possible to consider the context information about municipalities, areas and schools of the region. It gives the chance to plan monitoring works:

  • create regulations of carrying out,
  • set terms,
  • lists of the participating educational organizations, etc.

Processing there undergo any tasks: tests with the choice of answers, the short and unrolled answers.

By means of ABBYY Monitoring is executed processing of results of diagnostics. The monitoring course at all stages of carrying out work is on a centralized basis controlled by the region or municipality. After carrying out diagnostic work analytical reports become immediately available to the educational organization, municipality, the region or federal agency.

Employees of supervisory centers of quality of education, municipalities and also the regional and federal Ministry of Education see detailed results on separate schools, objects, subjects, skills and abilities of pupils.

Analytical reports allow to obtain the complete information about quality of education taking into account types, types and location of educational institutions, the number of pupils in a class, qualification and an experience of teachers, etc. It gives the chance to make management decisions, to adjust educational programs, to regulate the level of investments into educational institutions.
