2018: Announcement of Alexa for Hospitality

In June, 2018 Amazon released the special version of the digital assistant of Alexa for hotel business. The Alexa for Hospitality service introduces voice actuation of electronics in hotel rooms.

Possibilities of Alexa for Hospitality will adapt under specific hotels. By means of this solution lodgers will be able to order different services in number (for example, cleaning of the premises, the SPA procedure, delivery of food) without use of phone and also to manage directly devices indoors by means of spoken commands. For example, thus it is possible to manage operation of the conditioner, to switch on and off light, to reproduce  music. For implementation of such functions in numbers will set the "smart" columns Echo.

Besides, the service will help guests to look for the interested information on the Internet, to learn detailed data on hotel and services. Also Alexa for Hospitality will allow visitors to connect temporarily the account of Amazon.

It is noted that Amazon was configured by Alexa for Hospitality such obrazy that a system daily deleted records of commands, and hotels could not get access to voice records of guests or replies of Alexa to commands. At the same time hotels will be able "to measure interaction using analytics" and to adapt offers on the basis of responses of guests.

The Marriott International company became the first partner of Amazon who showed willingness to implement Alexa for Hospitality in the network. At first the technology will appear in such hotels as Aloft Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Autograph Collection Hotels, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, Westin Hotels & Resorts.[1]

As  notes  Financial Times, cooperation with hotels will allow Amazon to expand possibilities of application of the voice assistant significantly.
