2017: Announcement

In November, 2017 the German carmaker Daimler announced the chat-bot for the vehicles. The new project integrates a number of the experimental systems of a digital customer support in one application with speech management which motorists will be able to use not only in a car interior, but also in the distance — for example, at home.

According to Reuters news agency with reference to the Chief Digital Officer of Daimler Sabina Shyoynart (Sabine Scheunert), the company created a virtual assistant under the name Ask Mercedes ("Ask Mercedes").

The new tool will allow the existing and potential clients of Mercedes to interact with Daimler services, using voice commands or a text chat.

By words Shyoynart, before global deployment of Ask Mercedes at first will be available in some markets and languages. It also added that the company constantly expands a range of mobile services and services of sharing of cars, at the same time supporting a traditional lineup of machines.

Owners of cars of a brand of the next model years will be able to use the Ask Mercedes application. Exact terms of start of service are not called.

It is known that Ask Mercedes will extend as the application for smartphones and electronic devices supporting the voice assistant to Google Assistant. Thanks to it opportunities of service can use in any place where there is an Internet connection.[1]
