2020: Use of a system

On January 21, 2020 Rosneft announced the beginning of implementation of the automated system of intellectual drilling (ASID) on  the drilling rigs working at fields of the Orenburg region. The oil and gas giant calls it solution AI the first in the Russian Federation.

ASIB works by the principle of an auto pilot at accomplishment of drilling operations. Relying on initial parameters, a system timely makes corrections to drilling production control.

Key advantage of technology in Rosneft is security. Each 10 ms a system scans indicators of sensors and quickly reacts to a situation. At achievement of critical values new development itself stops work, having informed the drilling foreman light-sound signaling. Also depending on type of drilling of ASIB independently calculates the maximum speed corresponding to a technical limit.

Rosneft implements artificial intelligence on drilling rigs

A system allowed to reduce time of mechanical well-drilling by day. Economic effect when drilling one well is estimated approximately at 5 million rubles.

Key parameter of efficiency evaluation of a system is increase in mechanical speed of passing. In the course of trial tests specialists increased this indicator on average by 15%, it is specified in the press release.

By January 21, 2020 passed trial tests in JSC Orenburgneft ("subsidiary" of Rosneft). Rosneft also set monitoring stations of data of drilling with elements of artificial intelligence for 97% heavy drilling rigs. For the last 5 years the volume of drilling operations increased more than twice, declared in the company.

Thanks to digital technologies  specialists of Rosneft had an opportunity of remote maintenance of process of drilling in real time. By January 21 of the 20th year Rosneft has 10 stations of remote expert support of processes of drilling.[1]
