2015: Microsoft provided Azure IoT Suite — a cloud for Internet of Things

On March 16, 2015 Microsoft announced the cloud solution of Azure IoT Suite designed to help corporate users to adapt to Internet of Things (Internet of Things, IoT) gaining popularity.[1]

Innovation represents a set of the cloud services integrated with the Azure environment and allowing any companies to start own IoT-projects.

Azure IoT Suite is expected three types of workloads: remote monitoring, resource management and diagnostic maintenance. Such loadings can be met in different industries, especially where there are a lot of physical entities, Sam George, the head of the affiliate program of Azure IoT services noted.

Several services will be a part of Azure IoT Suite. Azure Event Hubs will allow to receive and process the telemetered informations arriving from millions of devices, websites and applications. The service Azure Stream Analytics will provide in real time information analysis from different sensors, electronics and other network devices. Also the instrument of visual processing of IoT-data PowerBI and Azure Machine Learning and Azure HDInsight Hadoop services which as well as Azure Event Hubs and Azure Stream Analytics, are also available as independent solutions will become a part of a new product.

According to Sam George, Azure IoT Suite will allow to connect to Microsoft Azure cloud the most different electronic products with network functionality, to receive from them subjects to management, storage and the analysis data which can be used for acceptance of important business solutions and process automation.

The preliminary version of Azure IoT Suite will be available by the end of 2015. For use of Microsoft of a product will levy a monthly payment which amount is not reported. Also American company did not list all services which will be a part of a complete cloud solution.

The American producer of means of industrial automation, electric equipment and software of Rockwell Automation became one of the first companies which showed willingness to use Azure IoT Suite in the working purposes. Solutions of this company collect data from sensors in oil pipelines and other physical components of a supply chain of energy resources, allowing to define need of replacement of this or that equipment in time. Analyzing data in real time through Azure IoT Suite, Rockwell will be able to expect possible technical issues earlier, than usually, George noted.
