In June, 2018 the first this flying car came to a test stage. It is about the Flyer project which develops Kitty Hawk startup created and supported by the cofounder of Google and the head of Alphabet Larry Page.

The vehicle is represented by a one-seat float-operated multikopter with 10 rotors. By June, 2018 he can fly up and sit down only on water. Lithium-pol cells  provide flight within 12-20 minutes at the height from one to three meters with a speed of 20 miles per hour (32 km/h). The device has the small sizes - 4.2 × 2.6 m - and intuitive management, including by means of two joysticks.

According to the journalist of CNN Rachelle Crane who managed to test the new device, in Flyer two control levers and them it is easy to master, but she noted that it is not the most convenient type of management

As Flyer weighs 113  kg, it fits into the restrictions of the Federal Aviation Administration of the USA regulating use of ultra lightweight devices.  In particular, it allows  not to register the device and  to fly it without pilot license.

Kitty Hawk began to take preorders on purchase of the flying car, but did not set its price. It is expected that luxurious resorts and sports clubs in which the vacationer will allow to drive on innovation will become the first buyers.

Flyer is a nonunique project of the company. In March, 2018 Kitty Hawk also announced construction and tests of the autonomous  flying Cora taxi in New Zealand. It is supposed that the two-seat Cora taxi will become a part of the transport system and will be on sale to the companies and vehicle fleets, but not certain people.[1]
