2018: Announcement and beginning of sales

On September 25, 2018 HP Inc company. provided the portable Tango inkjet printer which is externally similar to the book and therefore can successfully fit into an interior of houses and offices. In addition to design, turn on themselves and functions of the device.

First of all It should be noted presence of voice actuation, namely — support of services Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Microsoft Cortana. By means of spoken commands it is possible to set print settings, for example.

The printer is connected on a wireless network of Wi-fi (direct USB connection is not provided) both to the computer, and to the mobile device. The last can be used for obtaining notifications about need to replace a cartridge or to put paper in a tray.

In the countries where service of the automatic order of home delivery of cartridges instead of the used HP Instant Ink works, owners of HP Tango can use it. Moreover, as a bonus the user receives free printing of photos from the mobile phone or the tablet on paper up to 13 x 18 cm in size.  For Russia it is irrelevant.

Dimensions of the printer make    37.6 x 20.6 x 9.1 cm, weight — a little more than 3 kg. Despite a small form factor the device is capable to print black-and-white documents with   the resolution of 1200 x 1200 dots per inch and color images at   4800 x 1200 dots per inch. The print speed reaches 11 pages per minute. The maximum load is stated at the level of 500 pages a month.

Thanks to the HP Smart application it is possible to start operation of the printer far off on the Internet. Are provided function of scanning of documents by means of the camera of the smartphone and the program of fast setup of the equipment.

HP Tango can be ordered at the price of $150. The version of HP of Tango X with a cover in a set will cost $200 and will go on sale in October, 2018.^[1]
