Availability to corporate customers of System Software company

On October 29, 2018 the System Software company reported that it began to offer corporate customers flexible and scalable cloud services of Huawei 3data Cloud.

According to Huawei, in 2017 the market of cloud solutions in Russia grew by 25%, advancing growth of the market of traditional IT infrastructure. Before providing a product to customers, 'System software' carried out test drive of Huawei 3data Cloud, having placed in it the corporate IT systems. Start of the Huawei Cloud direction and public cloud of Huawei 3data Cloud

In March, 2018 Huawei announced creation in structure of the Russian business of the company of the Huawei Cloud direction and start in Russia of a public cloud under own brand - Huawei 3data Cloud. Wang Wei before directing division of data centers of Huawei in Russia was appointed the CEO of the direction.

The cloud is created in partnership with the Russian operator of DPC network 3data therefore his name is also present at the name of service.

On the project presentation creators of Huawei 3data Cloud explained that 3data which main service is collocation at the initial stage free of charge provided two platforms in the DPCs for placement of the equipment of Huawei – a technology basis of a cloud. For launch one of them is filled with the equipment. In process of loading of the existing equipment 3data it is ready to provide more than the areas under a cloud.

Total capacity of these platforms, according to TAdviser, is about 200 racks. Brought data into Huawei that for launch resources are available to customers to data storage with a total amount more than 1.5 PBytes.

Contracts with customers for cloud services are signed through 3data, she is responsible for operation and will give to users support of the first and second lines. The third support line – for Huawei. Revenue from services of the party will be divided, how exactly, in the companies preferred not to specify.

The amount of investments into a cloud does not reveal. Huawei says only that by the time of start the company already invested "tens of millions of dollars" in the equipment, development, specialists, etc. Further investments will be defined by business need.

Services of Huawei 3data Cloud

At the initial stage of Huawei 3data Cloud offers corporate customers infrastructure cloud services: computing and network services, services of data storage, services of management and security.

For launch, according to Huawei, for the order more than 20 public services are available to creation of cloud infrastructure with management through an online office of self-service or by means of the documented API. By the end of 2018 the quantity of cloud services of Huawei promises to increase up to 50.

Also the company calculates that the cloud of Huawei in Russia will acquire partners who on its base will provide the services PaaS and SaaS. The purpose – to construct a cloud with a "rich" set of services, the director of the strategy of Huawei Cloud in Russia says Pavel Vishnyakov.

For whom services are intended

Huawei says that their cloud services can be interesting to any organization passing through transformation. Wang Wei noted that the innovation companies in terms of IT become key customers of Huawei in a cloud, as a rule.

At the same time, it seems, that Huawei in particular it is interested in involvement of very large customers. One of the differences from local players he calls the opportunities as large global vendor.

Now in Russia rather small companies having rather modest in comparison with global vendors, resources and an opportunity to invest in technologies and solutions are engaged in providing cloud services, - Huawei writes in the announcement of Huawei 3data Cloud.

Wang Wei specified in a conversation with TAdviser that for launch of Huawei 3data Cloud there are no more large providers of cloud services existing in Russia, but the company intends to invest gradually in development of a cloud and it is essential to scale it, and if necessary - quickly.

Because Huawei itself is equipment manufacturer, in need of significant scaling of a cloud for the customer he should wait for obtaining large volume of new resources less, than to other players, consider in the company.

Pavel Vishnyakov in a conversation with TAdviser noted that the company, of course, is interested in very large customers, but the balance between the companies of the different size is important to provide stability of revenue. An important part of revenue will arrive from the market of SMB, it calculates.

Money yet not the main thing

Our purpose – not to become big, to be unrolled, earn a lot of money. We want to construct first of all an ecosystem and to involve in our business as much as possible not only clients, but also partners in order that together with us earned also those who around, - Pavel Vishnyakov said. – Such ecosystem is a backlog on the future for many years and revenue growing in geometrical progression.

Among partners on whose involvement to cloud business Huawei – sales associates is focused, service specialists partners in local software applications and also developer partners of cloud solutions, including such which would be created especially for a cloud of Huawei in Russia.

Would like to obtain as partners in cloud business in Russia Huawei also competitors: "we do not want to be competitors, we want to involve all in partnership", Vishnyakov in a conversation with TAdviser noted.

Premises of creation of a cloud in Russia

Pavel Vishnyakov explained that start of a cloud in Russia is caused by several factors. First, Huawei itself consumes cloud services: under the requirements the company constructed many clouds, and thought why not to sell them.

The second – since 2017 clouds are strategic direction of Huawei in which it is going to make significant investments. The purpose of Huawei – to enter the five of world leaders in the field of cloud solutions, Wang Wei at a press conference noted.

And the third moment – the market of clouds ripened not only in the world, but also in Russia: here users tried out them and began to trust cloud services, Vishnyakov says.

According to Van Veya, the output to the Russian market of a cloud is also connected with plans of the country for creation of digital economy. Huawei expects to contribute significantly to its development, he said.

Under own brand – for the first time outside China

Huawei 3data Cloud is the first public cloud of Huawei under own brand started outside native China. Earlier the company already announced start of public clouds in the different countries in Europe, in the Middle East, in Asia and other regions. They were created according to the similar scheme with partners, but under a brand of partners. For example, with Deutsche Telekom, Telefonica and Orange Business Services.

The idea to develop cloud business under own brand was born in Huawei at the global level after it designated for itself clouds by strategic direction. In response to a request of the headquarters to think over possibilities of development of cloud business under own brand abroad, the Russian division of Huawei in Russia was that who offered one of the most successful models, and one of the first got its support, tell in Huawei.
