2019: Disclosure of source codes
In the middle of July, 2019 godaibm opened source codes of tools for joint application development of Kubernetes. It is about the Kabanero project which was submitted at the O'Reilly Open Source Software conference in Portland (USA).
Kabanero integrates popular development environments and frameworks with means of DevOps, native for Kubernetes.
Creating Kabanero, IBM aimed to lower to the companies the barriers preventing software implementation of Kubernetes which is used for an orkekstration of big clusters of containers which, in turn, are applied to work of separate components and levels of the application.
It is difficult to select the correct technology for creation of proprietary cloud applicaions and to gain knowledge necessary for effective implementation of Kubernetes — the senior manager on the products IBM Cloud Developer Developer Nate Ziemann writes in the blog. — Besides, providing to architects, developers and project departments of an opportunity is easy to work together at observance of their individual requirements is an additional problem upon transition to a cloud. |
One of the main difficulties, is that architects and project teams should include own standards of security, etc. in the Kubernetes applications. Because of these requirements close interaction between commands is necessary that can slow down development process. For the solution Kabanero given problems includes the tool of the command line under the name Appsody which can be used by developers for creation of microservices, components of container applications which already conform to standards of security of their organization.
One more key Kabanero component is Codewind. It provides expansions for popular integrated development environments, such as Eclipse, Eclipse Che and Microsoft Visual Studio Code which are used by developers for creation of the applications.[1]
