Readiness to begin serial release of the first Russian dual bank chip

The Mikron company, NIIME and NSCP announced on September 9, 2019 completion of development, certification and preparation of production for serial release of a domestic chip of the first K5016BK01 (MIK51BC16D) level — the first Russian dual bank chip for contact and contactless payments.

The dual bank chip with support of the HF standard developed by "Research Institute of Molecular Electronics" (RIME) in July, 2019 was certified by "National Payment Card System" (NPCS) for use in Mir payment system and entered in the list of the recommended card platforms with the name MIKPay.MTD.D6.

The chip is implemented on a dual payment platform of MIKPay.MTD.D6 of domestic development on the basis of the Russian technologies as an alternative to the chips of foreign production used at card issue for the Russian banks. IoT-devices based on the secure MIK51SC72D microcontroller

On April 16, 2019 Mikron provided a line of IoT-devices based on the secure microcontroller of the first MIK51SC72D level.

The MIK51SC72D microcontroller of the first level is certified as means cryptographic data protection (CIPF) on class KC3 and supports domestic algorithms enciphering GOST P34.12-2015 and GOST 28147-89 that ensures high safety of transfer data and protection against cracking at the hardware level.

Solutions with the certified cryptoprotection are especially relevant on objects of critical infrastructure, such as power supply networks, housing and public utilities, city and transport infrastructure. The line of IoT-devices of Micron includes the controller of lighting systems, the tracker for cargo transportation, industrial sensors, counters of housing and public utilities (water supply, gas, the electric power, heat supply) and also the sensor of control of fullness of containers household waste. Devices are developed and are made together with the Russian partners for application at the enterprises interested in use of domestic EKB in the digital infrastructure.

Start in production M1220/0SEM

On February 14, 2019 the Mikron company announced start in serial production of the first domestic compact radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag of M1220/0SEM for marking of objects, executed on the aluminum antenna.

This tag with the aluminum conducting scheme and a circuit of the antenna of the high-frequency range (HF) size 20kh12mm is developed based on the domestic microcontroller of the first MIK213ND level of Micron. The tag is optimal for placement on cardboard, glass, a tree and plastic and is read out at distances up to 0.05 meters that is the standard range of reading of NFC of tags.

For February, 2019 products of Micron are applied by RFID to different tasks, including inventory, protection of a brand and control of a counterfeit, automation of technical processes, warehouse and trade logistics, automation of the agricultural enterprises, financial, educational and medical institutions, and also to control and access control to different objects and units of storage.

On February 4, 2019 the Mikron company announced start in serial production of universal radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags for marking of objects.

The RFID tag of M1743-0Q2M of the high-frequency range (HF) developed by RFID laboratory of Micron for the first time is mastered in serial production in October, 2018. The tag size – 43kh17mm, the volume of programmable memory is 1 Kb. The tag is easily applied on cardboard, glass, a tree and plastic and read out at distances up to 0.05 meters, the producer noted.

According to the developer, the tag of production of Micron can be used including for accounting and access control of visitors on transport, actions, in different organizations and also for logistics, an inventory control and inventory.

The RFID tag of S-Tag of the 3D ultrahigh-frequency range (UHF) developed by RFID laboratory of Micron is passive, has 128-bit memory of EPC, is steadily read out on metal and other surfaces at distance up to 14 meters in ETSI the region at frequencies from 865 MHz to 868 MHz.

The strong plastic body of an ergonomic form (10kh2kh1.3sm) provides the high level of security of the built-in chip from adverse weather conditions and mechanical influences. In the body there are 2 openings for fastening by bolts or rivets to a surface and also openings for fastening of a tag are provided by collars. Construction of a tag provides wide circulation of the RF signal both when using of the fixed readers, and when using portable tame readers.

The film — the carrier for 6-output the chip modules — was made on the project of technology department of Micron. The advanced technology process allows to optimize use of materials when packaging chips and to considerably increase performance on this section, emphasized in the company.

As of March 27, the tape carrier is used for production the chip modules for bank cards of NSCP World. The first batch the chip modules is already delivered to the customer.

Tests of library of functional silicon very high frequencies components

In February, 2018 the Mikron company completed tests of library of the difficult functional silicon very high frequencies components working at frequency up to 3 GHz. According to the statement of the company, the created blocks will allow to reduce the price of transceiving modules and to increase energy efficiency of the radar-tracking systems used in navigation and car electronics.

Serial release of RFID tags with support of the NFC standard

The Mikron company in February, 2018 announced mastering of serial release of tags of M6025P/0NH with support of the NFC standard and function of indication of opening which provide expanded protection of a brand, authentication of products and also placement of marketing and intellectual applications, "smart" advertizing and programs of loyalty for consumers. The solution is used for marking of different objects from glass, cardboard, a tree or plastic.

The RFID tag has a signal loop with the notches put on perimeter intended for easy destruction in the course of its rebonding or opening. At destruction of a signal line of a tag the event about violation of integrity of the antenna is stored, and during reading the changed data or the confidential code are issued. Radius of reading of this tag is made by 1-4 centimeters, operating frequency — 13.56 MHz ± 7 KHZ, and the high-speed interface allows to transfer data at a speed of 106 kbps.

Serial production of RFID tags for metal

Mikron in January, 2018 completed development, testing and began serial production of RFID tags for marking of metal products. Tags are issued in four form factors for work in high-frequency and in ultrahigh-frequency ranges.

Special sealant from frothed polyethylene which provided distance, necessary for operability of a tag, between the antenna and a metal surface of a product was applied to neutralization of negative effect of metal in an UHF tags. In HF tags the ferromagnetic interfering distribution of electromagnetic waves was used. Thus, the steady work of all types of tags confirmed in laboratory tests was reached.

2017

The production line the chip modules is upgraded

On December 19, 2017 the Mikron company announced start of the line of production the chip modules for bank cards, identification documents and other electronic media of personal data.

To the middle of 2018 the investment volume into this stage of upgrade will be 220 million rubles.

The first lines of sealing the chip modules are open on Micron in 2005 and became a basis of the assembly shop which for December 19, 2017 provides a full stroke of assembly of a product line of RFID and the chip modules for identification documents using own integrated circuits, including exports products.

Release of 2 million World cards with the MIK51BC16D chip

On November 20, 2017 the memorandum of cooperation between Post Bank and the National Payment Card System providing release of the largest batch of the World cards in the market with the Russian microchip MIK51BC16D of production of Mikron company is signed.

The first batch of the World cards with the Russian microchip of 400 thousand pieces is already sent to regions of presence of bank. The shareholder of Post Bank — Russian Post is engaged in delivery of cards. Read more here.

MIK213ND received the status of a domestic chip of the first level

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation confirmed compliance to the developed NIIME and the chip made by Micron for MIK213ND NFC tags to requirements imposed to domestic products of the first level. Mikron reported about it on October 10, 2017.

The chip of MIK213ND is used in radio-frequency tags for marking widely of a range of objects, including wood, metal, glass, plastic, paper, mainly in the marketing purposes. According to representatives of Micron, the Russian microchip MIK213ND conforming to the NFC Forum Type 2 Tag standards is the first chip of domestic production with the NFC interface. He does not demand the special reader, for reading any device with the NFC module can be used.

MIK213ND represents the universal single-crystal microprocessor held for use in radio-frequency tags. It provides contactless information transfer at distance to 100 mm, depending on geometry of the antenna and power of reading out - the writer device. The microchip transfers data at a frequency of 13.56 MHz with a speed of 106 kbps.

The chip of MIK213ND is already applied in electronic cards in a pilot project on chipping of wood in the Irkutsk region and also to an internal inventory control in PJSC Mikron.

Mikron produces more than 480 million RFID products a year

According to the data of Mikron company published on September 25, 2017 since the beginning of 2017 production of 17 face values of products is developed that exceeds indicators of last periods and reflects the growing demand for the electronic component base (ECB) in the industry projects connected with digitalization. On September 12, 2017 the department of the radio-electronic industry Ministry of Industry and Trade Russia based on consideration of the application about confirmation of production of industrial output in the territory of the Russian Federation confirmed compliance of the K5016BK01 (MIK51BC16D) microcontroller made on "Micron" and certified for use in cards NATIONAL PAYMENT CARD SYSTEM "World" to requirements imposed to integrated circuits of the Russian production of the first level.

The integrated circuit K5016BK01 (MIK51BC16D) is the universal single-crystal microprocessor with the dual interface manufactured on CMOS (complementary structure the metal-oxide-semiconductor) technologies and held for use in the systems of a secure access imposing high requirements to data protection level. The microcontroller for bank cards of production of PJSC Mikron is executed in the form of the microprocessor with support of the certified international and Russian cryptographic algorithms. World is created on a contact payment platform of MIKPay.MJC.D4 with the payment applet set in ROM memory.

The card MIKPay platform on the basis of which the microprocessor family for the different systems with payment functionality, the contact and contactless interface is created is developed by specialists of JSC NIIME on the basis of the Russian technologies as an alternative to the chips of the American, European and Asian production used at card issue for the Russian banks.

The microcontroller is made on PJSC Mikron on technology regulations 180 nanometers, corresponds to international quality standards and ensures the high level of security and safety of personal data of users. The microchip has amount of memory for record and use of applications: ROM - 256Kbyte, EEPROM - 16Kbyte.

Integrated microcircuits of K5016 series (MIK51ABxxx)

For January 27, 2017 Integrated microcircuits of K5016 series (MIK51ABxxx) are held for use in the systems of a secure access imposing high requirements to data protection level.

Chips of this series (K5016XC2 (MIK51AB72D) and K5016TS01-04D/B (MIK51AB144D-04)) are intended for production of passport and visa documents of citizenship of the Russian Federation (biometric international passports), different state electronic identification documents:

  • identity certificates of the citizen of the Russian Federation,
  • certificates of the serviceman,
  • policy of compulsory health insurance,
  • electronic driver's certificates
  • others.

2016: MIK51SC72D (K5016VG1) is the integrated circuit of the first level

On December 14, 2016 the Mikron company received confirmation of recognition of the chips developed for bank cards World, domestic integrated circuits of the first level. Compliances to level were confirmed by Minpromtorg.

The ministry on behalf of department of the international cooperation confirmed compliance of chips of K5016VG1 (MIK51SC72D) to integrated circuits of the first level. These chips are used during creation of bank cards of Mir payment system[1].

The integrated circuit of the second level it is necessary for recognition of products that the enterprise from the Eurasian Economic Union owning the rights to design and technology documentation including the used slozhnofunktsionalny blocks which are not a subject of own development was his producer.

Such documentation should allow the enterprise to make these products within not less than five years. Besides, the enterprise should perform design, development and testing of integrated circuits in the territory of Russia.

For recognition of products integrated circuits of the first level, in addition to the called requirements, the producer should execute operations in Russia:

  • development of structure,
  • development of a logical and electric schematic circuit of integrated circuits,
  • development of topology of integrated circuits;
  • software development for integrated circuits;
  • production of plates on a full stroke (except for photo masks) with crystals and their measurement;
  • assembly of crystals in the body;
  • measurement and testing of integrated circuits.

For integrated circuits of the first level use at their design and development of ready-made circuitry solutions of foreign production is not allowed.

The integrated microcircuit of K5016VG1 represents the specialized controller with two types of the interface produced on CMOS technology. It is held for use in secure systems as identification documents, bank cards, the system of a secure access, system of the digital signature and transfer. The chip provides high degree of protection against fraudulent activity therefore it is used in the World cards.

The same chip of production of Mikron is used during creation of electronic keys (tokens). In these cases on the chip another is established by software.

Expertize of the request of Micron for recognition of these chips domestic was carried out by Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mikron provided for conducting examination all necessary information, including:

  • the list of the capital equipment used in production of a chip;
  • specification of a chip;
  • set of design and technology documentation;
  • route on a basic technology;
  • routes of production of a product;
  • the documents confirming the expenses connected with production of end industrial output and so forth.

The company Micron declared the superiority in an issue of receiving from Minpromtorg of confirmation of the status of domestic integrated microcircuits of the first level.

If the set criteria of reference of chips to type of goods of domestic production are actively used for creation of preferences of domestic production when carrying out the state tenders within implementation of the plan of the guaranteed purchases of the Russian microelectronic products adopted by the government, it will protect both the national market, and national producers. The new state course on import substitution which gave a qualitative impulse to development of the domestic electronic industry will contribute to the further development of the Russian electronics already within absolutely new market trends – such as Internet of Things and industrial Internet.

On June 15, 2015 it became known of plans - to use MIK51SC72D for implementation in production of bank cards of NSCP company.

The microchip is developed on the basis of the Russian technologies as an alternative to chips American (Atmel), European (STMicroelectronics, NXP, Infineon) and Asian production (Samsung, Renesas) which are used by the Russian banks at card issue.

MIK51SC72D is the microcontroller, it is intended for management of electronic key. It is executed in topology of 180 nanometers.

On March 16, 2015 it became known of joint development of the microchip with hardware implementation of cryptographic algorithms for verification of the electronic signature. Creators of a product: the Mikron plant and ISBC company[2].

On the basis of a chip production of electronic keys (tokens) and smart cards is planned.

The company ISBC created software for the chip and its integration into the programs of the electronic signature developed in the companies "Crypto missile defense" and Infotecs.

The hardware of a chip is not unique. Due to installation in the chip of the certified MasterCard M/Chip payment applications (Java applet used in PRO-100 payment system) and the Java Card virtual machine, it is used in different ID and payment cards. Among them, according to the statement of developers of the plant, the Universal electronic card, different transport cards, payment cards of the PRO100 system, social cards and ID cards of employees appears.

According to specialists of ISBC, the uniqueness gives to the MIK51SC72D chip the fact that it is the first microcontroller for electronic keys created by the Russian company in the territory of Russia without leaving borders of the country that, according to developers, guarantees lack of tabs.

In a chip at the hardware level cryptographic algorithms of verification of the electronic signature GOST R34.10-2001, R34.10-2012, hardware support of biometric authentication are implemented (fingerprint verification) and the built-in Java virtual machine.

Serial production of the microcontroller can be begun in April, 2015. Volumes of circulation depend on customers needs.
