2021: Using JaCarta Authentication Server for Authorization

Onlanta (part of the LANIT group) has implemented two-factor authentication when working with a remote desktop service (VDI) in a secure cloud OnCloud.ru. Authorization is based on the JaCarta Authentication Server (JAS) solution developed by Aladdin R.D. LANIT announced this on February 11, 2021.

Weak passwords are one of the most common causes of unauthorized access to a secure system, but increasing password complexity requirements does not always provide a significant improvement. Such passwords are difficult to remember and use. The most effective solution is the use of multifactor authentication.

JaCarta Authentication Server (JAS) is a software solution to improve security and enhanced user authentication. The implementation of JAS does not take much time and resources, since there is both a cluster and standalone implementation to choose from. The solution provides flexible and convenient authentication management with a large number of supported systems and services: from self-written applications to remote banking systems, as well as the ability to create a failover cluster for uninterrupted availability.

Previously, when working with the VDI service, users entered only a domain password. Now, when authorizing, employees will also enter a six-digit automatically generated code - the authenticator. If the domain password can be hacked, then the password code cannot be forged during two-factor authentication. This provides additional security. The JAS solution supports any software (Aladdin 2FA, Yandex.Key, Google Authenticator) and hardware OTRS tokens (TOTP, HOTP), as well as U2F tokens. Two-factor authentication is an additional layer of security, a guarantee that only an employee can access the account, even if the password has become known to someone else.

Availability of Mail Cloud Solutions platform components

Availability of "Valarm WAF"

Onlanta (part of the LANIT group of companies) on September 19, 2019 announced the conclusion of a partnership agreement with Onsek, the developer of a comprehensive platform for protecting and testing web applications and the Valarm API. Launch VALO Cloud Business Application

On February 14, 2017, the company Onlanta"" "First BIT" and reported on load testing 1C:ERP 2.2 and the start of providing the system according to the model from the SaaS cloud Oncloud.ru.

During testing of 2.2 1C:ERP for 10 and 15 thousand users, the total number of documents created and posted in the system exceeded 180 thousand. These are documents of movement in warehouses, mutual settlements with counterparties, purchases, sales, documents for assembly and processing, cargo customs declarations - more than 20 different types of documents in total.

Tests of 1C:ERP 2.2 were carried out within five weeks. During this time, Onlanta specialists observed an uneven load distribution between different elements of the computing infrastructure with an increase in the intensity of computing processes. Representatives of the provider revealed conditions when a lack of resources is possible and developed an algorithm for compensation "in dynamics," without reducing the quality of the SaaS service for end customers.

The test results of 1C:ERP 2.2 showed that in a calm mode, the equipment for the operation of "heavy" systems should not be 100% loaded. A margin of safety is required to overcome "turbulence." The causes of turbulence must be identified and dealt with, but the system must be ready to work until the problem is fixed.

2015: SLA changes for OnCloud.ru

Since the beginning of 2015, Onlanta (part of LANIT Group of Companies) has made changes to the SLA for the provision of cloud services OnCloud.ru in terms of the methodology for measuring indicators of service availability. The cloud is a rather complex environment and the real availability of services depends on many components involved in the formation of the customer service and the parameters of the cloud infrastructure. The resulting availability is defined as the product of these components and will therefore be lower than the availability of each. But carrying out such a multivariate analysis during cloud operation is not an easy task. Quite often, one parameter is specified as an availability parameter in SLA and marketing materials: either the availability of the virtualization environment - a hypervisor, or the availability of the engineering infrastructure of the data center, which is insufficient to assess the availability of the service and the health of the customer's application.
