"R-storage" - the software-defined solution which integrates disk space of servers in the distributed, failsafe, scalable data warehouse.

"R-storage" and the platform virtualizations "R-virtualization" are a part of a uniform distribution kit "Rosplatforma". Software does not require the special server hardware and it can be set on any servers, already available or purchased from the preferable supplier. Also SOFTWARE Rosplatforma it can be preset by partners on own or specially picked up by them models of servers for creation of ready hardware and software systems.

Advantages of the solution

"R-storage" offers significant savings on storage systems when ensuring high performance and fault tolerance due to consolidation of internal disks of servers in single distributed system of data storage where the fault tolerance is reached by replication of data between servers.

High performance is provided by own algorithms of distribution of data and a possibility of use of SSD for caching of transactions of reading/record or as the separate level of storage.

The architecture of "R-storage" is expected loss of any physical server or a server group entirely, and not just a separate disk. All data are stored in several copies. At the same time "R-storage" never stores more than one copy on the physical server / rack / room.

"R-storage" allows:

  • connect virtual machines and containers Rosplatforma to the data warehouse optimized for placement of virtual environments
  • increase performance by 160-640% in comparison with traditional hypervisors in the scenario LAMP,
  • provide servers of high availability,
  • create block, iSCSI-, NFS-, S3 -/objektnye targets for hosts,
  • eliminate idle times of servers because of machine failures,
  • provide uninterrupted migration of servers and replication.

The solution allows to refuse use of expensive SAN arrays, integrating the local disks set in separate nodes of a cluster in secure storage location of data which:

  • it is characterized by small resource consumption of the processor and memory and in parallel works at the same nodes with virtualization;
  • allows to configure different mechanisms of fault tolerance and high availability, for example replication (2:1; 3:2) and noiseproof coding (3+2;5+2;7+2;17+3);
  • about 32 PB are scaled;
  • journalizing and caching of transactions and also multilevel data storage (TIERing) supports SSD.

  • products "R-storage" and "R-virtualization" are included in the Register of the Russian software of Mintsifra;
  • resistance to sanctions (sales to the Crimea are possible);
  • local support of all levels in Russian.

Performance

Together with the software-defined data warehouse "R-storage" is a part of a uniform distribution kit of Rosplatforma "R-virtualization" - the hyper convergent virtualization platform of servers. The hypervisor of KVM complemented with developers of Rosplatforma operates virtual machines in "R-virtualization". In comparison with basic implementation of KVM (which is a part of CentOS), performance of "R-virtualization" was 30-40% better, and density of placement is up to two times higher.

At the same time the speed of operation of applications most often depends on performance of a disk system (in most cases the speed of execution of operations of accidental reading / record — the most critical, the speed of accomplishment of consecutive transactions of input-output influences system operation less). Comparative testing of the software-defined disk array of "R-storage" and free storage CEPH was made on identical "iron" with identical types of loading. During the test with a high load it was supposed that it is impossible to use a cache because of the large volume of data which users address.

Chronicle of development of a product

2020: Compatibility with Red OS

The companies "Rosplatforma" and "Red Soft" within partnership held testing for compatibility of the products. Developers confirmed full-fledged and smooth operation of software packages on to the operating system RED OS (productions of RED SOFT) in the environment virtualizations based on products "R-virtualization" and "R-storage" (production of Rosplatforma company). 2019: Obtaining FSTEC certificate of Russia

The Rosplatforma (R-Platforma LLC) company announced on September 12, 2019 obtaining the FSTEC certificate of Russia on a software package "The integrated platform of server virtualization "R-virtualization" and the distributed data storage "R-storage". Read more here.

2017

For November, 2017 this solution of Rosplatforma assumes achievement of significant savings due to consolidation of internal disks of servers in single distributed system where the fault tolerance is reached by replication of data between servers. The architecture of "R-storage" is calculated so that to cope with loss of any physical server and even a server group entirely, and not just a separate disk.







2016
