2019: Beginning of use

On March 15, 2019 Airbus Group announced start as the company claims, the first-ever drones delivering a freight from the land to the floating ships.

First who tested in operation new unmanned aerial vehicles under the name Skyways became logistic company Wilhelmsen Ships Services and Sea and port administration of Singapore (Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore).

The first flight of drones suppliers took place on March 15, 2019. The UAV transferred from the land to the sea vessel one and a half kilograms of a disposable load — the consumables printed on the 3D-printer. They were brought to the transport and towing ship "Pasifik Senturion" which was in 1.5 km from the coastal line.

According to authors of the project, the device could work completely in a standalone mode and coped with the task within ten minutes.

Airbus says that Skyways is capable to deliver freights weighing up to 4 kg and to land on the ships which are at distance up to 3 km from the coast, flying on the selected air passage by means of the special managing software.

During Skyways testing the partner companies want to understand how it is possible to use the UAV for the benefit of all navigable industry. Affirms that drones can accelerate cargo delivery six times, reduce costs on 90%, reduce emissions of CO2 and also avoid accidents which can result from normal procedures of loading in the loaded ports.

By March, 2019 different delivery of loads,  including spare parts, products and medicines, to  the vessels standing on  remote external raid is made usually by boats or even helicopters if it is about  heavy objects. It does cargo delivery more expensive. Drones should solve this problem.[1]
