Smart IDReader is the system of artificial intelligence for recognition of documents which as of December, 2018 allows to recognize the passport of the citizen of the Russian Federation, bank cards and more than 700 document types more than 165 countries of the world (including Russia, the USA, China, Japan, Great Britain, the CIS countries, the European Union countries, etc.) in a video flow (mobile phones, tablets, webcams) and on separate images (photos, scans).
Smart IDReader is SDK for embedding of a possibility of recognition in mobile applications, server and desktop solutions. The algorithmic base Smart IDReader is optimized for architecture "Elbrus" SPARC, MIPS ARM, x86 and is compatible to operating systems iOS Android, Sailfish Mobile OS RUS, Elbrus, Linux (including Astra Linux and "Atliks") Windows, macOS and Solaris.
The program for recognition of ID cards of the identity of "Smart IDReader" is entered in register of the Russian software (the order Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications Russia of 12/14/2016 No. 653).

Smart IDreader 3.3
On November 29, 2019 the Smart Engines company provided upgraded version of a system of artificial intelligence of Smart IDreader 3.3 in which the accuracy of recognition of documents of the different countries of the world is considerably increased, recognition of 1100 document types is supported and the possibility of recognition of hand-written fields in identity documents is for the first time shown.
According to the company, Smart IDreader is the built-in technology which allows to implement a possibility of automatic data entry from certifying documents in mobile applications, Internet solutions and the front office systems.
In version 3.3 specialists of Smart Engines applied scientific achievements in the field of character recognition process optimization. This technology received the name GreenOCR (technology of optical character recognition of OCR on the basis of "green" artificial intelligence). In it the approach directed to decrease in energy consumption both neuronets during training and end devices in the course of accomplishment of the transactions put in algorithms is implemented. The technology allows to implement harder and harder tasks of recognition at simultaneous decrease in "dimensions" of the used neuronets and increase in their specific productivity.
One of such difficult tasks which use of GreenOCR technology allows to solve is recognition of hand-written data of a turn with 2-3 pages of the Russian passport. Transition from recognition on images (photos and scans) of characters of the printing and rukopechatny text to processing of the characters handwritten is serious result in development of AI which is able to afford to recognize in the future the handwritten text not only in the Russian passport, but also in other documents.

In upgraded version of Smart IDreader integration processes are facilitated, quality characteristics are improved: accuracy of recognition of documents is increased, the feature for the choice of the best photo from a video flow is added, the algorithm of cross validation of contents of the document and its machine-readable zone (MRZ) is updated.
For image capture of the document in a video flow in mobile applications the compact module "ID Shot" is implemented. Now users can run on the mobile device only for search and image capture of the document, and to execute all vychislitelnoyemky process of recognition on the server.
In upgraded version more than 50 types of different identity documents, driver's licenses of the different countries, including documents of Argentina, Jordan, Montenegro which were not supported in the previous versions are added. The modes of document handling AnyRus and AnyCIS allowing to recognize more than 20 documents of the Russian Federation and more than 50 certifying documents of the CIS countries without indication of their type became available to users of Smart IDreader.
For simplification of processes of integration with server solutions based on OS the Linux families are added scripts of automatic modular assembly for PHP and Python to Smart IDreader SDK. Support of work with UiPath Robotic Process Automation is also implemented.
Smart IDReader learned to define forgery in the dark. Video
On July 1, 2019 the Smart Engines company provided upgraded version of a system of artificial intelligence for recognition of documents in a video flow and on images Smart IDReader 3.0. More than 650 certifying documents and check of signs of a compromise of documents are added to versions based on 8-bit OCR of the second generation and the updated algorithmic stack of identification recognition. The quality of recognition of the Russian Federation citizen passport, MRZ, QR codes, bank cards and other certifying documents is increased. Processing speed of images on average grew by 25% that is especially important for work of a product on inexpensive phones.
| ||In 2015 we showed the first solution on recognition of the Russian Federation citizen passport on mobile devices and in photos. Since then, our scientific achievements in the field of computer vision allowed to offer the market the user experience when processing photos of documents and a living video flow. It is about fast algorithms of recovery of geometry of documents on images with projective distortions and ensuring high accuracy of recognition in photos irrespective of at what lighting and what device they were made. One of our main principles consists in autonomy of technologies. All calculations in the course of recognition are executed always on the customer's device. It can be the normal smartphone if Smart IDReader is embedded directly in mobile application, the server, the desktop PC or the self-service terminal. Anyway, we offer so-called processing of "in-house" when our users do not transfer information on the clients to processing to external services and can implement high standards of safety of work with personal data.|

According to the company, the possibility of automatic check on images and in a videpotoka of data consistency of the document became available to users of Smart IDReader 3.0. Verification of the document include reconciliation of the recognized text data of a visual zone of the document and the machine-readable zone MRZ at its existence. For determination of "validity" of the document, depending on its type, comparison of current date to date of birth, date of issue and validity period of the document is executed.
The company also showed possibilities of Smart IDReader 3.0 at recognition of the Russian Federation citizen passport, foreign passport of the Russian Federation and the Insurance Number of Individual Ledger Account in a video flow at unknown lighting (almost in the dark).
Upgraded version supports recognition of 940 document types, including passports of all countries of the world, the identity certificate (ID card), driver's licenses, visas, cards of health insurance, etc. Now for each of the countries of Europe and the CIS passports, ID cards and driver's licenses are recognized. The structure of the processed documents for Australia, Canada, China, Korea, Mexico, the USA and Japan is also expanded.
In comparison with version 2.0 for the Russian clients recognition of the time identity certificate, certificates of the prosecutor and lawyer is added, and document forms for the sake of appearances on residence, the military ID and the policy of compulsory health insurance are configured. At the request of insurance companies and brokers in Smart IDReader the structure of recognizable fields in the registration certificate of the CU (STS) is expanded. In the Russian Federation citizen passport the quality of recognition of printing stamps with registration and data on earlier issued passport is increased.
In Smart IDReader 3.0 the quality of recognition of all types of bank cards, the machine-readable zone MRZ on any documents and one-dimensional/two-dimensional barcodes is increased. For recognition of MRZ the search algorithm of text lines was improved. Development of a sensing technology of barcodes was directed to improvement of quality of extraction of data from AZTEC and QR which are used on receipts of housing and public utilities, FTS and other standard documents.
For payment solutions and also bank services mobile and the Internet of acquiring the opportunity of data entry of the card of the client at payment in the application is offered or on the website according to one photo. For this purpose in server components of Smart IDReader support of the mode of recognition of these bank cards on separate images which was available only during the work with video earlier is added.
For June, 2019, users of Smart IDReader are more than 35 banks and insurance companies, the 18th service - providers chief operators of communication, 6 services for sale of an avia / railway/bus tickets and also other projects with remote and exit service. On April 30, 2019 the company Smart Engines reported that in a system Avibus for execution of tickets in buses of the long-distance message the technology recognitions of the certifying documents Smart IDReader is implemented. She allows to distinguish data passports the passenger with use online cash desks or normal smartphones at sale and cross-selling of tickets on platforms, in buses on intermediate stations and at small bus stations. Integration into the automation system of notarial office-work Express
On September 17, 2018 the Smart Engines company reported that in the automation system of notarial office-work "EXPRESS" developed by TRIASOFT company there was an opportunity to recognize the Russian Federation citizen passport using the normal webcam. According to the company, it will allow notaries to reduce holding time of clients due to failure from tablet scanning of the document and manual entry of passport data. Sensing technology of printings and stamps on documents
On December 14, 2018 the Smart Engines company announced creation of a sensing technology of printings and stamps on documents in a video flow, photos and the scanned images. According to the company, the technology allows to add an opportunity to find printings (stamps) and to take from them information to mobile, server and desktop applications. Use in a product of Smart IDReader company for recognition in the Russian Federation citizen passport of an official stamp, printing stamps with registration and information on earlier issued passports became its first application.

For December, 2018 Smart IDReader allows to recognize the subdivision code, issued the passport, not only from a text box and the machine-readable zone MRZ (at its existence), but also directly on an official stamp. When processing pages of the Russian Federation citizen passport, a system allows to find and take test data from stamps of registration and data on earlier issued documents having printing filling. This information can be used for conducting different checks and autocompletion of agreements in banks, insurance companies, projects of sheringovy economy and other services.
The possibility of recognition of printings and stamps in the Russian Federation citizen passport on images and in a video flow is available to users of Smart IDReader starting with the version of system 2.2.0. For December, 2018 the functionality is optimized for architecture "Elbrus", "DIVISIONAL COMMANDER" SPARC, MIPS ARM, x86 and is compatible with operating systems iOS Android Sailfish Mobile OS RUS, Elbrus Linux Windows, macOS and Solaris.
For December, 2018, it is possible to test recognition of printings having installed the demonstration mobile application of Smart IDReader placed in Google play and App Store. For this purpose it is enough to users to show the page of the passport with printing to the camera of the smartphone or to process in advance taken picture of the document. Smart IDReader ensures safety of work with data as executes all calculations independently on the mobile device, does not store and does not transfer data to processing on the Internet.
Integration with Car of Expenses
On October 18, 2018 announced Smart Engines that the sensing technology of the documents Smart IDReader is integrated into mobile application of Car of Expenses. On October 16, 2018 the Crypto Pro company announced integration of the sensing technology of the documents Smart IDReader developed by Smart Engines in "Crypto Pro the Gateway UTs-SMEV". Version of Smart IDReader 2.0
On June 21, 2018 submitted to Smart Engines the next version of a system of artificial intelligence for recognition of the documents Smart IDReader 2.0. The second version created using the deep rarefied discrete neural networks can distinguish in a video flow and on images hundreds of types of white papers, standard forms of A4 format and supports any perspectives of shooting convenient to the user. The product is aimed at the markets of the Russian Federation and the countries of the former USSR.

It was useful user experience, and we are very glad that the market accepted it. The second version of Smart IDReader is story about modern standards in recognition of documents. Use allowed specialists of Smart Engines to pass a technology barrier from recognition on mobile phones of documents of A5 and B5 size (Russian Federation citizen passport) to standard certifying documents and any questionnaires, statements, agreements of A4 format into versions of Smart IDReader of 2.0 computing and effective algorithms of machine vision and 8-bit model of calculations. At recognition of "big" documents in a video flow in mobile application other approaches to carrying out calculations as unlike server solutions the performance of the smartphone is limited are required essentially and for acceleration of recognition it is impossible just to connect additional "core".
Development of remote channels of service is one of the main scopes of sensing technologies of documents. Often clients send at the circulation of the photo on which documents because of projective distortions represent not rectangular quadrangles, and in case of the Russian Federation citizen passport — so-called "book". The OCR technologies focused on work with scans when processing such photos can give quality at the level of 5-10% and less. Smart IDReader 2.0 is able to correct projective distortions both in photos, and during the work with a video flow in mobile applications, suggesting the user to show the document to the camera as it is convenient to it. Technology the possibility of recognition at the same time is provided practically until while the document can read without errors of people.
Thanks to the carried-out algorithmic and program optimization in Smart IDReader 2.0 it was succeeded to reach double increase in accuracy of recognition. It means that the quantity of recognition errors which get on verification to the person in comparison with first generation of a system was reduced approximately twice.
In the provided version the possibility of recognition of passports of the citizen of the Russian Federation with hand-written filling appeared. And, though the number of such documents of rather total number is small, their processing not only is relevant in different financial services, but also is the next scientific call. For processing of hand-written passports in the solution Smart Engines automatic detection of hand-written filling and a possibility of recognition (in addition to a document number) a floor, dates and number of division are implemented.
The results achieved by employees of Smart Engines became possible thanks to the solution of the whole layer of difficult scientific and technical tasks in the field of computer vision and artificial intelligence. Scientific confirmation of the received results was found by the reflection in 2 defended master's theses and in more than 40 articles published in rating Russian and international magazines.
In addition to recognition of the Russian Federation citizen passport, the Insurance Number of Individual Ledger Account, car driver licenses, STS and documents with a machine-readable zone, available already in the first version, Smart IDReader 2.0 is able to distinguish 15 document types of the Russian Federation, 20 documents of the countries of the former USSR and more than 200 documents of the countries of the world in more than 35 languages. Adding of additional document types and languages of recognition is implemented based on original development of Smart Engines in the field of visual intelligence — a technology platform of HIEROGLYPH.

In terms of basic functionality the quality of recognition of the embossed and not embossed bank cards, a machine-readable zone on any documents with MRZ is improved and recognition of barcodes with a high density of printing is implemented. In a video flow, in photos and scans support of recognition of one-dimensional barcodes of UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8, EAN-13, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128 and two-dimensional QR Code, Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF 417 is provided.
The algorithmic base Smart IDReader is optimized for architecture "Elbrus" SPARC, MIPS, ARM, x86 and is compatible with operating systems iOS Android Sailfish Mobile OS RUS, Elbrus, Linux (including Astra Linux and "Atliks") Windows, macOS and Solaris. The solution belongs to the class of platformonezavisimy — the quality of recognition does not depend on the used OS and a hardware platform, and high-speed performance is defined by available computing resources.
Integration with Odnakassa service
On April 10, 2018 the Smart Engines company reported that the Odnakassa service implemented Smart IDReader technology for recognition of Russian Federation citizen passports at sale of tickets in buses of the long-distance message. According to the company, the buses connected to service, are equipped with the special mobile terminal which allows to perform sale of travel documents. Integration into the Kupibilet applications
Testing on 5 computer systems Elbrus
The Smart Engines company in December, 2017 held comparative testing of Smart IDReader on 5 computer systems with processors Elbrus. During tests possibilities of complexes for solving of tasks of computer vision were compared.
5 different devices on the basis of processors Elbrus, including workstations and server solutions participated in testing.

The Smart IDReader application was compiled under architecture Elbrus from the source code and was started in the native mode. At the same time support of parallelization on the most available number of flows was provided.
The research was conducted for the following document types: Russian Federation citizen passport, biometric Russian Federation citizen passport (foreign passport), driver's licenses of the Russian Federation, driver's licenses of Great Britain, German ID cards and sheet of disability (sick leave note).
For assessment of performance net time of recognition of one image (the scan or the photo) without time management of loading of the image from the file was measured. At the same time the document on the image could be arbitrarily turned. Final time of recognition was determined as an average by 100 images of each document.
Quantitative results of testing — time of processing of one image for two operation modes are given below: consecutive image understanding (Table 1) and recognitions with support of parallelization of calculations (Table 2). In case several processes of recognition are started, final time included load time of images from the file.
The received results showed that all participating devices on the basis of processors Elbrus provide the recognition time corresponding to industrial solutions on recognition of documents. So, in the mode of parallelization of calculations time of recognition of the Russian Federation citizen passport at the compact workstation Elbrus 401-PC makes less than 1.5 seconds, and on top Elbrus-8.4 — only 0.11 seconds. At the same time all server solutions for tasks with high degree of parallelism showed acceleration by 3-4 times, noted in Smart Engines.
Joint solution of the class KYC of VisionLabs and Smart Engines
At the beginning of July, 2017 VisionLabs and Smarts Engines proposed the new solution of the class Know your customer (KYC) intended for verification of the new bank clients who came on digital-channels without visit of office. Innovation in general represents SDK for implementation on mobile devices and the PC. Face recognition is performed based on the VisionLabs LUNA platform which allows to identify and verify persons in real time. The Smart IDReader technology in which the possibility of recognition of the Russian Federation citizen passport not only on images, but also in a video flow on mobile phones in the on-device mode is implemented is applied to recognition of documents. Integration with Passport and ID card Reading-Prim41
The Bulgarian developer of equipment rooms and software tools of document handling and ID cards the Prim41 Ltd company selected sensing technologies of the Russian company Smart Engines. Within cooperation the first delivery of 100 licenses of library of recognition of a machine-readable zone of documents (MRZ) for Passport and ID card Reading-Prim41 is performed.
Smart IDReader is integrated into VisitorControl
VisitorControl allows to organize access control of any complexity and is compatible to the access control systems (ACS). The program has integrated solutions with SKD of the Russian and foreign producers, among them: Artonit, RusGuard, PERCo, Bastion, "Kodos", Bolid, "Sigma-IS", Kronverk, Octagram, Parsec, Bosch, KerySystems, Apacs and other.
For acceleration of process of registration of visitors and reduction of errors of manual entry of data from documents in VisitorControl it is offered to use the Recognition of Documents add-on module which allows to register the visitor, having pressed only two buttons.

Smart IDReader is the system of identification of the personality according to certifying documents.
On September 27, 2016 the Smart Engines company announced release of the Smart IDReader system. At the end of 2016 the program of recognition of the documents Smart IDReader developed by Smart Engines company is entered in the Unified register of the Russian programs for electronic computers and databases. According to the order of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation the solution Smart IDReader is included in class software which libraries of subprogrammes (SDK) and the linguistic software treat.
Inclusion in the register of domestic software of the Smart IDReader program confirms its compliance to statutory rules and requirements of the Russian legislation. The software products entered in the unified register can be purchased by the state and municipal organizations, having advantage over foreign software.
Smart IDReader is the system of recognition for safe extraction of data from documents on smartphones, tablets, the PC and servers. A system allows online recognition of data in a video flow, photos and scans of documents. Among the supported documents Russian and foreign passports of the Russian Federation, the Insurance Number of Individual Ledger Account, car driver licenses, STS, a standard machine-readable zone in other document types.

Mobile application is able to recognize data of the Russian documents (the Russian Federation citizen passport, the Insurance Number of Individual Ledger Account, driver's licenses, STS), any passport and visa documents with a machine-readable zone (MRZ line), bank cards and driver's licenses of Great Britain.
Smart IDReader will facilitate to users of mobile applications input of personal data manually. For this purpose it will be required to point the mobile phone camera at the document and a system will automatically enter data in fields of a registration form, the questionnaire or statement. To recognize a passport turn, it will be required to the owner of the budget smartphone from 1 to 2 seconds.
