2019: Integration of Microsoft Teams into the Bonava Projects system

On December 13, 2019 the Digital Design company announced project implementation on development of the Bonava Projects system in development company of Bonava.

Since 2017 the international development company of Bonava together with one of integrators of Russia Digital Design is engaged in development of cloud solutions based on Microsoft SharePoint Online. All information connected with developer projects of Bonava is stored in the Bonava Projects system which consists of two components: collections of the websites of a cloud platform Microsoft SharePoint Online and collection of the websites of a cloud platform Autodesk BIM 360. For each developer project is on one website in Microsoft SharePoint where the documents created by standard office applications are placed and in Autodesk BIM360 (information models of buildings – Building Information Models, by BIM here are stored and processed).

The next stage of project implementation began with transition to the latest version of the Bonava Projects system with the automated registration and setup of the websites of projects on both existing platforms to which one more was added – Microsoft Teams. Adhering to progressive views of the organization of a digital working space, the Bonava company could not remain away from trends of development of digital workplace. Therefore integration Microsoft Teams in the Bonava Projects system became one of the last completions made by Digital Design company. Microsoft Teams represents a single platform in which there is all necessary for joint work: discussion of working questions with colleagues in a chat and in a format video conferences, the general work with documents and use of applications worldwide as work is possible on stationary PCs and mobile devices iOS and Android. In the long term Microsoft Teams will allow to expand functionality including due to use of integration with Microsoft services.

Also during the project the access control system in all, now three, components of the Bonava Projects system which is performed through SharePoint Online was customized. Thus, during creation of the website of the project with the set set of parameters in SharePoint Online the website in Autodesk BIM360 and a working space in Microsoft Teams automatically is created, at this SharePoint Online remains central "control node". It is at the same time rather simple to work in three integrated system components: transition from discussion of the project to viewing the corresponding design documentation is performed by one click. Work in uniform space with the built interrelations between raznoplatformenny components simplifies process of systematic storage and updating of information which belongs to the project that more than 1000 users in 9 countries are important in working conditions.

Changes concerned first of all jobs of employees of the countries of the Baltics, Finland and Sweden then were scaled on other countries of presence. Also the general properties of projects in all countries were configured. For December, 2019 works on providing storage to a possibility of characteristics of projects, specific to each country, and differentiation of the interface of users depending on a project location are conducted.

Automation of work with the project documentation

The Swedish construction company "Bonava" automated process of work with the project documentation due to expansion of opportunities of a corporate portal based on the Microsoft SharePoint Online platform. On June 18, 2018 the Digital Design company reported about it.

The project on upgrade of the Bonava Projects system intended for automation of process of work with documentation on developer projects of the company became a large stage of the program of development of a cloud environment in the company. As well as the corporate portal, one of two components of the Bonava Projects system is implemented on the Microsoft SharePoint Online platform. A system gives an opportunity to structure information on the flowing, planned and completed projects on construction of housing and also to create information space for a specific construction object for the purpose of joint work with files of different types.

The Bonava Projects system is available to the staff of all divisions, and these are more than 1000 users in 8 countries. Annually tens of objects are put in operation and each of them are thousands of project documents. The Bonava Projects system provides the structured data storage and allows to manage a flow of project documents effectively. The project was executed by Digital Design company.

Upgrade of a corporate portal

On June 5, 2018 the Digital Design company announced that in 2017, within the program of development of a cloud environment, the project on upgrade of the Bonava corporate portal on the Microsoft SharePoint Online platform was started.

The project on transfer of infrastructure and business systems in a cloud environment began in 2016 in connection with selection of the business division which was engaged in housing construction in NCC Group concern in the separate company which received the name Bonava. In the conditions of a geographically-distributed structure of construction objects and offices and also mobility of employees, the high level of availability of IT infrastructure and services was required for the company, it is preferable on a single platform. Therefore a choice was made for benefit of cloud model based on a wide product range of Microsoft.

Bonava completed migration of the IT infrastructure and applications for core business in a cloud in a short space of time, and in 2017 started the second stage of development of a cloud environment – to creation, development and improvement of corporate information systems. One of the first started process of upgrade of a corporate portal on the Microsoft SharePoint Online platform. Specialists Digital Design were faced by a task to organize convenient corporate space for content management, exchange and joint work with files and documents, the organizations of the centralized information storage and management of internal business processes. During the project specialists also developed the interface taking into account the practician of User eXperience (UX), executed data migration and completion of Microsoft Azure services.

The portal helps to organize interaction between departments of the company on all internal business processes and provides an information access about projects, sales, investments, production, marketing, HR and so forth.

The Microsoft SharePoint Online platform selected by Bonava company for the solution of the tasks gives a set of advantages to work with content and is suitable for management and business process automation, considering geography of the company, due to ample opportunities of scaling.
