The Spanish bank signed the IT contract for 1 billion euros with IBM

In the middle of January, 2020 Banco Sabadell, the fourth in value Spanish non-state bank, and IBM Services signed the contract for 1 billion euros within which the American company should update completely IT systems of bank within the next ten years. It is supposed that the contractor will help the customer to accelerate digital transformation and to keep strategic development of its business model using cloud computing of IBM.

With assistance of IBM the Banco Sabadell company is going to transform the IT infrastructure to create a modern technology platform which will become base for customer-oriented service. According to the director of Sabadell of operational management and the personnel Miguel Montes, the bank aims to improve efficiency of computer systems that with the minimum economic and time expenditure to process as the bigger number of data and transactions is possible.

Solutions of IBM will help Banco Sabadell to transfer all existing applications and services to the hybrid cloud environment meeting necessary standards of cyber security that the company could correspond to new normative changes. This cooperation is intended to simplify the dispersed IT infrastructure of bank and to provide adequate data management, services and workflows. At the same time partners intend to be guided by the high speed of transactions, their security and compliance to regulatory regulations.

IBM Services is going to use Red Hat OpenShift technology for management of a hybrid cloud environment. This solution gives such opportunities as scalability, fault tolerance and security of a system in general. Parallel to TSB, the British branch Banco Sabadell, also signed the contract with IBM for work in Great Britain.[1]
