Goodyear starts a blockchain system for delivery of buses by the US military man

In March, 2020 Goodyear announced start a blockchain system for delivery of buses military. The Science Applications International company specializing in rendering IT services to state bodies was engaged in implementation of this project. The new solution is designed to provide data protection of clients in a supply chain using blockchain technology.

The Goodyear company which on the volume of the released buses, is in the first place in North America and on the second in Europe, cooperates with the U.S. Department of Defense long ago and now intends to use a blockchain system for delivery of buses of airplanes and other vehicles for armed forces.

Partners are going to turn on in the program of cyber security a format of the industry standard for processing of digital transactions and also to help participants to trace and analyze activity of a supply chain. SAIC is going to integrate data from sensors of Internet of Things with smart contracts to expand possibilities of tracking of a supply chain in real time.

The executive vice president and the general manager of a customer group of SAIC on the systems of protection Jim Scanlon told that the blockchain technology will help the government and military personnel to ensure safety of transfer of confidential and crucial data. He added that the pilot program will support clients of Global Tires Program (GTP). SAIC provides services in supply management of GTP within the potential contract for $900 million which the Agency of defense logistics signed in December, 2018. GTP treats the Tire Successor Initiative program. SAIC reported that within this program more than 1.5 million in buses worldwide with duty factor of 97% were delivered.

According to the statement of SAIC, the company also works with Microsoft, using Azure Blockchain service in implementation of the projects in the corporate sector. As for cooperation with Goodyear, it is not clear whether it covers Azure.[1]
