At the end of February, 2020 the UEFA announced that it will use ticket sales system on the basis of a blockchain for release of tickets for Euro-2020. The association tests a blockchain tickets more than 18 months and is happy with the received results. In June, 2019 in the final of the League of Nations more than 110,000 tickets (about 80%) were issued with use a blockchain system.
The mobile application recognizing QR codes is the cornerstone of the solution. Such system prevents copying, activating tickets only shortly before the action when the fan is near stadium. Admirers can transfer the purchased tickets to other people, using the same application.
Information on the developer a solution blockchain is not disclosed, but it is supposed that the SecuTix company became the supplier. She was involved in development a solutions blockchain for UEFA in 2018 and probably signed the agreement on software for sale of tickets within Euro-2020.

The SecuTix parent company also supported development of the TIXnGO platform which is used by the British cricket club Lancashire County. Other company, Ticketmaster, uses the application on the basis of a blockchain for sale of tickets too, specializing in sporting events. One more firm from Holland, GUTS Tickets, used a blockchain for sale of tickets for a concert of a popular local star of Guus Meyvis in June, 2020.[1]
