Panasonic's facial recognition system has been installed at the football stadium, which does not allow fans from the blacklist

At the end of August, 2019 the Japanese producer of electronics Panasonic announced that the surveillance cameras of the company mounted at football stadium of the Danish club Brøndby IF will include the software for face recognition now. New cameras will identify persons from the black list which prohibits access to the stadium territory.

According to Panasonic, possibilities of the camera and software allow to distinguish undesirable persons even if the part of the face is hidden by a hood or sunglasses and also on according to the pictures taken ten years ago. The technology of deep learning used in new software was developed together with the National University of Singapore and increases face recognition speed by 5 times in comparison with the normal systems, Panasonic states. It is supposed that use of such cameras will reduce jams at an input by stadium as the software for face recognition of FacePro from Panasonic will identify persons from the black list long before they reach tourniquets.

The managing director of Brøndby Jesper Jørgensen considers that a new system considerably will increase efficiency of security actions and guarantees that nezhelaatelny persons will not get on stadium. First of all such solution will make more comfortable visit of stadium for fans: they are waited by less jams on points of entry less than unexpected unpleasant tricks from other guests.

Several other football clubs also test options of this technology. Herta, the company specializing in the software for face recognition implemented this technology at different football stadiums in Uruguay. The club of the English premier league Manchester City reported that that it intends to use this system in ticket offices at the Etihad stadium.[1]
