Russia creates a digital polygon for pilotless cars for 600 million rubles

On June 22, 2020 it became known of creation in Russia of a digital polygon for testing of unmanned vehicles and infrastructure to them. In this project it is going to invest 600 million rubles.

According to RIA Novosti with reference to the presentation", appears the main contractor of the project Federal State Unitary Enterprise NAMI, collaborators — NP Glonass and  infrastructure company "SMARTS". It is supposed that the most part of financing — 417.8 million rubles — will arrive from the state in the form of the guarantor. On non-budgetary sources 81.9 million rubles is necessary.

According to an idea of authors of an initiative, on a digital polygon    investigation and  certification tests of the vehicles, their components and  systems providing interaction of vehicles among themselves and  with digital infrastructure will test the connected cars and vehicles with high extent of control automation and also.

Using the built-in communication channels, including the Internet, theoretically such cars can communicate not only with mobile devices, but also with road infrastructure — smart traffic lights, cameras of fixing of violations, command centers by the movement, the meteoequipment

Monetization of the project will be is provided due to rendering services in  carrying out different tests,  including comprehensive tests of the high-automated vehicles, the connected machines and  their components, certification tests of DNC and  their components.

"KAMAZ", GAZ, Sollers, "Yandex", Moscow Administrative Road Inspectorate, NGTU, StarLine, Basetrack, global car makers, producers of intelligent systems and  components can use a digital polygon.

By June 22, 2020 only approximate terms of creation of a polygon — are called 2020-2022.[1]
