On the Russian nuclear power stations in 2017 the project of replication the ERP system of SAP came to the end. Sergey Migalin, the Deputy CEO — the director of economics and finance of Rosenergoatom Concern, the operator of the Russian nuclear power plants told about it on SAP Forum in April.

Based on a single system of SAP ERP in central office of Rosenergoatom, branches and on the NPP control of basic processes, including investments and projects, purchases, stocks, logistics, agreements, management of finance and costs, accounting and tax accounting is exercised.

As of the beginning of 2017 in total in concern there are more than 4,500 users of SAP ERP.

Uniform ERP on the NPP was implemented within conversion of Rosenergoatom to "the digital company" - from the separate automated processes to a uniform information field and the integrated landscape.

Sergey Migalin in April, 2017 announced completion of replication of SAP ERP on all Russian nuclear power plants

Sergey Migalin noted that replication of the SAP ERP template was carried out to very short time — in one and a half years the full-function ERP solution was started on all 10 NPPs of the country. Part in implementation was taken by BDO company.

The pilot project on completion of the standard solution SAP ERP started at the end of 2015, in its framework the system template based on SAP ERP was implemented in Central office and 5 branches of Concern (The Balakovo, Leningrad, Rostov, New Voronezh NPP and Branch on implementation of capital projects). In 2016 Rosenergoatom Concern together with BDO Unicon Business of Solutions began to transfer to the uniform unified resource management system of 10 more branches - the Beloyarsk, Kalinin, Kola, Kursk, Smolensk, Baltic, Bilibino, Kostroma NPP, Voronezh nuclear heating plant and the Experienced and demonstration engineering center. Since January first, 2017 start on all other NPPs and branches began. Test operation on them was complete in April. Practically in parallel with start of uniform ERP systems which were historically used on the NPP were disconnected.

In composition — purchase management modules, stocks, agreements (MM), the investment managements and projects (PS), finance (FM), costs (CO), accounting (FI), accounting of VNA, RBP, SIZ (FI-AA), tax accounting (FI-SL) and sales management (SD). The solution allows to keep account and to analyze costs in different cuts and in dynamics on separate branches, divisions and in general on Concern.

In parallel specialists of BDO Unicon implement the system of the summary reporting of Concern on the SAP BI platform. The SAP ERP systems given primary accounting will become a basis for the reporting. Also among perspectives of the project there are a management of the diagram and cost of construction of the new NPPs, prolongation of lives of the operating nuclear power plants, integration with management systems for repairs and operation.

Sergey Migalin explained need of the accelerated SAP implementation with two factors. One of them - difficulties against the background of general economic crisis which Rosenergoatom in 2015 faced.

Crisis affected also industrial production: it became by the end of the year clear that electricity consumption does not grow in the country and rates for it will not grow, Migalin told. In the presence of inflation in at least 5-7% a year if to change nothing, a certain percent of turnover is lost every year, and for the company there is a risk to appear beyond that line at which nuclear power plants will be able to be profitable, the representative of Rosenergoatom noted.

Considering it, the company realized that the way of automation with the card of implementation and replication for the term of 3-5 years as it often happens, does not suit it.

Such way does not suit us because we during this time if will not be ruined, then we will cease to have those investment means which are necessary to us for development. Crisis affected activity of Rosenergoatom therefore decided to implement SAP in concern in the accelerated mode

The second factor – desire of concern to work at foreign markets. It is impossible to come to foreign markets with the technologies which were historically existing in Rosatom, the representative of Rosenergoatom explained. Abroad there is the system of regulation of atomic energy, the management system for constructions of nuclear power plants, the state supervision and control of implementation of such projects. Without total digitalization, without transfer of all processes of the company and all its objects to digital control it will not turn out to operate there.

Speaking about risks of use of import software against the background of the developed geopolitical situation, Sergey Migalin noted that he does not think that case will reach "Iron Curtains" and that SAP will get to somewhere. But even at the worst deal, ERP projects are projects of transformation of business, organizational conversions, and after establishing order in the company it is already unimportant that new SAP will write. It is important that business processes are put in order and are configured, Migalin considers.

Since the end of 2016 in Rosenergoatom implementation of the BI solution of SAP is in parallel conducted. According to Sergey Migalin, in 2017-2018 it is necessary to add the solution in the field of capital construction for management of cost and the diagram of construction to traditional ERP, the expanded analytical reporting, management of operating experience. Transition to the SAP HANA platform, transition to the centralized portal solutions is planned for 2018.
