The robot doing tests for a coronavirus without participation of people started working

At the end of April, 2020 Bright Machines in cooperation with Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center hospital (Ichilov) and also iCobots company provided the robot who will be able to do tests for COVID-19 coronavirus practically without participation of people. Innovation began to be used in the Israeli medical center.

To accelerate process of testing and to protect workers of laboratory workers, the Bright Machines company developed a robotic system which can process test samples COVID-19 with the minimum participation of the person. Automation of process of laboratory tests will also allow to hold testing without interruption that considerably will increase the daily volume of tests.

Bright Machines usually works with producers of electronics at "microfactories" - combinations hardware and the software, used for assembly and check of products. On this basis the company developed COVID-19 testing system using the standard construction Bright Machines blocks: robotic module, double pipeline, manipulator and observation system. The robot is programmed so that to open test tubes of the different sizes, to select tests from the patient's test tube in a control test tube, and the observation system allows to control performance during all process.

The producer provides a system free of charge for a period of up to 12 months. Besides, Bright Machines conducts negotiations on an occasion of deliveries of the robot with a number of the research centers.

This project underlines importance of automation on production in general and in the field of medicine in particular, - the engineer of Bright Machines of Hagay of Bars (Hagai Bar) noted. - Robotization eliminates the need for excess, risky manual work. Robots are not tired and do not make mistakes, and thanks to them research laboratories can work round the clock.[1]
