2017: New composition of the Supreme Council of the United Russia party

On January 22, 2017, a new composition of the Supreme Council of the United Russia party was announced in Moscow. Boris Gryzlov was re-elected head of the party's Supreme Council. Of the new members, the high council includes:

a number of governors in whose regions United Russia scored higher or comparable to the result of the party in the country as a whole (54.2%).

Youth movement

The heyday of MGER came in the mid-2000s. Then Vladislav Surkov oversaw two parallel youth forces at once - headed by Vasily Yakemenko "Nashi" and the youth organization of United Russia.

Between both organizations there was competition for high positions in youth policy. From United Russia, MGER was "looked after" by the then head of the CEC EP Andrei Vorobyov, but Surkov's influence was stronger.

That is why several young Nashists made their way to the most "youth" - the 5th convocation of the State Duma - at once, overtaking the MGER representatives in terms of mandates.

At the same time, the MGER was shaken by the internal revolution. With the departure to the promotion of Rkslan Gattarov, Timura Prokopenko transferred power in the organization and the organization itself seriously bypassed the Yakemenkov Nashists. Up to the complete decomposition of "Ours" and their removal from domestic politics.

However, a few years later, when strong people finally left MGER (the last charismatic was Maxim Rudnev), the youth wing of EP also, after the Nashists, overtook decomposition.

2023: Competition to hack the electronic pre-election voting platform

United Russia announced a competition to hack the electronic preliminary voting platform. This was announced on May 12, 2023 by the press service of the State Duma deputy RFAnton Nemkin.

The competition, whose task is to check the reliability of the electoral IT system, will be held on the eve of the electronic preliminary voting of United Russia, which will be held from May 22 to 28 in all regions of the country. White hackers who can find vulnerabilities on a specially created resource that includes genuine system algorithms will receive a monetary reward. Regional coordinators of the federal party project "Digital Russia" also joined the verification of the platform. Under the leadership of the IT specialists of the project, teams of professionals and students of the IT faculties of Russian universities will work on hacking.

Vyacheslav Sateev, head of IT projects at United Russia, said that party IT specialists have created a special test cluster in which genuine algorithms of the preliminary voting system are built-in, encrypted using cryptographic information protection tools. Any cyber team or white hacker can try to hack the platform. If they manage to intervene in its work and get personal or system data, then they need to transfer the message to the headquarters of United Russia. Assistance in finding the vulnerable points of the platform will be highly appreciated: those who manage to do this will receive cash prizes.

Participants will be evaluated in two nominations.

In the first nomination, a successful result of participation in the competition will be the demonstration of a copy of the table of our database that the person received. In the second - saving the blockchain of preliminary voting with the correct vote, filed without authorization or on behalf of a third-party user, - said Vyacheslav Sateev.

Although the electronic preliminary voting platform of United Russia has a good security system for open search for vulnerabilities, first, will help allay public fears that someone may influence the results of the primaries, and secondly, it will allow not only to analyze the vulnerabilities of the platform that could lead to a potential hack, but also, perhaps, find new additional solutions for its further development, noted the federal coordinator of the project "EP" "Digital Russia," a member of the State Duma Committee RUSSIAN FEDERATION on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications Anton Nemkin.

Digital Russia, of course, will take an active part in checking the "stress resistance" of the platform. We plan to involve our coordinators in all regions of the country, local IT communities, students of specialized faculties and residents of regional technology parks in this work. Given the great work to ensure the security of the service that the party has carried out in previous years, the platform will certainly withstand this pentest and prove the effectiveness of domestic IT developments in this area too, "Anton Nemkin emphasized.

The deputy also noted that over the past year, the State Duma of the Russian Federation has adopted very important laws for the development of the IT industry, which have laid a strong foundation for ensuring the country's cybersecurity. By the end of 2023, according to the deputy, additional measures will be taken to informationally protect the digital resources of government agencies and platforms for communications of government, business and citizens.
