CloudStore is app store for a public sector of Great Britain

Acquisition of services by the state organizations in Great Britain is performed by means of CloudStore service. Services are available to the most wide range of the state organizations, to bodies of the central and local office, NHS (health care) and police.

2012: Choice of suppliers

In February, 2012 the cabinet of Great Britain within the government [1] program a task to 255 suppliers of information technologies and services of communication of all forms and the sizes on sale of their services to users of the state cloud directory of [2] services.

The first government tranche in the amount of £60 million was spent for it. This amount, in process of its mastering, will come for payment 1700 different ICT services to four sectors (lot) of the cloud state order: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and also to providers of "clouds".

As a part of the list of suppliers of cloud services published on February 19, 2012 along with the known integrators, providers and resellers like Computacenter, SCC, Kelway, 2e2 and Trustmarque, the set of small specialized firms is provided.

The representative of the government of Great Britain Francis Maude said that CloudStore will make process of state procurements "quicker, more simply, cheaper and is more transparent both for public sector, and for suppliers". According to him, dynamics of the online market will keep suppliers in readiness while contracts will be limited for 12 months, and implementation model, as expected, uberezhyot from unpleasant financial "surprises".

The The Register edition with reference to the cabinet reported that the application for participation in the G-Cloud program was submitted by 600 suppliers. According to him, earlier from interaction with a public sector of the company kept the cost and complexity of process of purchases.

According to assessment of treasury of Great Britain, G-Cloud can reduce the annual IT fund of the government making nowadays £16 billion by £3.2 billion, and the purpose of the Minister of Finance George Osborne – to reduce public sector costs by 20%.
