Interview of TAdviser with the director of hosting company King Servers Vladimir Fomenko

The director of King Servers (Server Technologies) Vladimir Fomenko gained fame after publications of the American media in which it was said that servers of his company were used by hackers for attacks on mail of Democratic Party of the USA. In an interview of TAdviser he told about how suddenly fallen glory was reflected in the company, remembered the history of its creation and also shared development plans.

Tell about the history of creation of the company?

Vladimir Fomenko: This year the King Servers company will celebrate 8 years. All began in 2008, to me there were no 18 also. I then got an education, but did not study up since I was engaged in business as many peers. Tried a miscellaneous and found the niche in a hosting. Started anew to resell the equipment with support for target clients. Vladimir Fomenko: Began to work abroad, then there was "a long way home". Began to offer services in global market some of the first in the country. We go after the clients. If tomorrow there is demand, King Servers is ready to place servers though on the Moon.

Today the main platforms for us: California (USA) and Meppel (Netherlands). I will list only some companies with whom we cooperate: Hurricane Electric, Frimont (California) - one of the leading American telecom operators; Serverius, Meppel (Netherlands). These are two of our main partners. They locate data centers of the highest levels of protection. We selected them not accidentally. We have very high requirements for security and service. The company offers the clients only the best that is in the industry, and same we demand from partners. Now we solve a problem how to convert popularity into new clients. Ideas are, but I consider to open all cards rather early. Digits of sales speak better than any words. We could grow up so if scandal had any impact? I do not think. We of course worried as our partners from the USA will react to such news. I am very glad that they not only understood, but also encouraged. Business relations are only this way checked.

What development plans for the company for the next year?

Vladimir Fomenko: Taking into account that we want to grow by 70% it is necessary to sweat strongly! Plans at us very ambitious. We are going to start CDN and a cloud hosting. Let's actively develop in the USA. Of course, all this will demand considerable investments. Earlier we developed on own means, but now just such moment when it is necessary to do powerful breakthrough. Money is for this purpose necessary. We almost solved this problem. We attract external financing from the foreign companies. It is by the way one more indicator as our western partners reacted to scandal. All understand that it was a part of a game. Trust us, and we very much appreciate it.

How your business was influenced by the law on data storage of Russians in the territory of Russia?

Vladimir Fomenko: Our company works in strict accordance with the law of that territory where our equipment is located and where we do business. Russia not an exception. If there are requirements - we execute them. Other question that our clients ask us to render services outside the country and we do it. In this case other jurisdictions, other rules.

What advantages and restrictions at creation of the international IT-Business from the town of Biysk? Whether there is a plan to move to Moscow or other large city?

Vladimir Fomenko: I of Biysk. Around very beautiful nature, but as for infrastructure - everything is not so good. Long time this situation not strongly disturbed me, but times change. If there are ambitious plans as do not twist, but it is better to do business where it is concentrated. In 2017 I am going to transfer head office to Moscow. About it clients for convenience of communication ask long ago. And the logistics at trips to foreign clients and partners is many times simpler. The office will perform representative functions.

At the current level of development of technologies does not take place of your location of special value. It concerns first of all technical support, PR, marketing and some other divisions. Most of our children work far off and urgent need to be in one point is not present.
