OVK (1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse)

In April, 2006 the Dialog Information Technologies company started the project on system implementation of management of a warehouse in OVK companies and in July, 2006 successfully completed it. Within the project the solution "is implemented by 1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse" on the 1C: Enterprise 8.0 platform, developed jointly by AXELOT company and 1C Company. In this solution the technology of barcoding and radio data collection terminals is used.

The OVK company is warehouse division of TEKS group - one of the leading suppliers of construction materials and the largest producer of paint and varnish products in St. Petersburg and Northwest region. The OVK company specializes in warehouse transactions with cosmetic construction materials (wall-paper, wallpaper glue).

The inefficiency of use of a warehouse complex – too large number of time necessary for search and placement of goods in a warehouse and also high complexity of carrying out inventory was the basic reason which roused OVK company to system implementation of management of a warehouse. Besides, in fair opinion of the management, implementation of the information management system of a warehouse will allow to reduce the probability of losses of goods in a warehouse and regradings.

Considering the current tasks of automation of a warehouse and its perspective development, the choice fell on new development "1C: Enterprise 8.0. 1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse", including all necessary subsystems for automation of a warehouse management system. It is also necessary to note that "Dialog Information Technologies" was the first company – the strategic partner in St. Petersburg developer of the software product of Axelot company.

As a basis for creation of a system the 1C: Enterprise 8.0. platform, a standard configuration "1C: Enterprise 8.0 was used. 1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse". Also additional components were used: The module "Resource Management and Connection of Radio Data Collection Terminals" for a configuration "1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse".

Before the project the company management of "OVK" set a main objective – increase in efficiency of a warehouse complex. For its achievement the following tasks were set and solved:

Conducting address storage of goods; Use of technology of barcoding and radio data collection terminals; Formalization and automation of warehouse procedures; Reduction of dependence on personnel; Increase in efficiency of a warehouse complex; Increase in accuracy of accounting; Increase in efficiency of use of personnel. Implementation was carried out jointly by specialists of Dialog IT company and the Customer's specialists. Forces of specialists of Dialog IT company performed the following works:

Choice, delivery and equipment installation and software; Carrying out training of specialists of the Customer in skills of work in a system and its administrations; Design and development of the system of data exchange with a corporate information system of the Customer; Consultations and methodological support of specialists of the Customer in the course of implementation; Within system implementation of management of a warehouse the following warehouse transactions are automated:

goods acceptance; address placement of goods in a warehouse; selection of goods; shipment; inventory. All transactions are made using technology of barcoding and radio data collection terminals.
